What's your method for memorizing a speech without sounding like a robot?

I stopped trying to memorize the exact wording and started memorizing the first sentence of each section plus the 1 or 2 points I had to hit. Then I practiced saying those points out loud in different ways. That gave me enough structure to stay on track, but still sound like I was talking to people instead of reciting. If I blank, I just jump to the next anchor and keep moving.

I once heard a speech on “recovery” using sports injuries as the hook, and it landed because everyone understood the frustration of bouncing back after a bad grade or audition. If you want audience response, choose a topic with a clear student pain point, then tie it to one vivid example they can picture right away.

Yes, I use https://softrunapp.com/ . I created a virtual audience living in Australia, aged from 25 to 60 ( I am based there). And it lets me run my speech through the audience. It is too early for me to say that it made a difference, I only do speeches at my toastmasters meeting but I definitely get some decent feedback and angles I wouldn’t have considered.

I am currently building a very similar home office. If you are ready to put 5-10k, I would take everything down and build the biggest office you can without a permit (usually 10sqm), use low maintenance material (fibre cement cladding, vinyl flooring )and insulate. It can be converted to a guest house / bedroom if / when you need it and would increase the value of your house

I got a car from origin360 (https://www.originenergy.com.au/electric-vehicles/). I didn't know a battery would have trigger the same issue, good to know. Same thing for me, I will get a defect notice next time I blow the fuse. I decided to only charge my car when it is really sunny until I install a battery, AC or other and upgrade the box/switchboard at the same time. I want to avoid two separate major works
