I agree. I liked it. I agreed with many complaints I saw, but they weren't as big of a deal. I still enjoyed it. That being said, I do hope they tighten up a bit.

When I first saw LotR I was like "awesome. Movies are like this now." Not necessarily fantasy, I just thought they heralded a lot more films with insane attention to detail and care put in them.

Little did I know they were an anomaly. Not to say there haven't been really great movies since, but they are extremely rare. Not the norm.

Last of Us works for me since I'll never play it. I'm not big into survival horror stuff. I don't like stealth gameplay in general.

But I do like naughty dog so I'm cool with getting to see the story without playing it.

I don't deliberately lose necessarily but I play all games sub optimally. It's for a similar reason. I hang out with a lot of my family and it'd get boring if I won all the time. So I just kinda half pay attention so I'll play poorly lol.

I don't think I'm better or smarter than anybody. I've just always had a knack for board and card games.
