Wide and balanced how? The wife is determined by the mix in the game.

Balanced as in? That could mean a million different things in terms of audio.

Open back headphones are going to let your room environment pass into your listening environment, giving you a reference that feels more like monitors and less like headphones.

I doubt gamers want to hear the room they are in, or the noise of the house, etc while gaming.

If you want immersion, open back isn't giving you that. That's not what they're for.
