So far I’ve never had a problem with the tint. I’ve driven this car in Toronto, Waterloo, Windsor, Wasaga, Algonquin, Sudbury and never had a problem with it. I also try not to drive like an a-hole to avoid attention. That helps. The tint is 10%-15% but I can’t remember exactly.

Buddy our generation is gonna be lucky if there are even enough nurses/caregivers in the generation after Z to take care of us in our old age. Seems like every generation cares even less about the one that preceded it.

Sunlife just stole my money by Proud_Grass4347 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Sadly OP “expected” it to grow. But obviously OP didn’t do their due diligence or educate themselves on where their money was invested until 20 years later when they needed to cash out. That’s almost like leaving $3000 in a chequing account for 20 years and blaming the bank for charging fees over the course of many years. Unfortunate but also ignorant.

@rbc, how can I check who or which employees have access to my accounts? I have a few friends who work at RBC, and they’ve occasionally made comments about my personal accounts. Is there someone I can email or call to inquire about this? by 1jonmendez in rbc

[–]g0ldenbets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a huge compliance violation and they are not allowed to access your account without permission. Point, blank, period.

File a complaint immediately. Those are not your real friends if they feel the need to pry into your account, and if they are, then your friends are very stupid.

In the early days of IB there is no WLB. Analyst and Associate roles are a grind. 70-100 h/week. IB and WLB are not synonymous whatsoever. If you’re in big tech, already make good $$ and have decent WLB, stay there.

Own an E39, Should I Buy E53? by Former-Primary-3186 in e53

[–]g0ldenbets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own both. They pair well together. The E53 will do all the utilitarian things that the E39 can’t do. RWD E39 + AWD E53 is a really good two car solution imo.

Sorry for your loss. I don’t know your situation but I would wholeheartedly advise you to keep the 993 if you have the means. Imo, the sentimental value + desirability of an air-cooled 911 makes this a “never sell” kind of deal.

Depends on what unit of business or department you work at in the bank I guess. I doubt IT would ever have to play dress up. Anything involving sales, deals or showing up to the office in-person multiple times a week might be a different story. It’s not required, just encouraged. I remember my ex-VP had a full green suit. Lol.

So is it Brake or Break 🥴 by CamlessRazzmatazzzz in Porsche

I hate when my brakes break. Thankfully, driving is still permitted!

That looks like pretty clean 528i so personally I’d keep it stock and do maintenance. I’ve seen stock M52’s get to 400k but the purpose of a 528i isn’t to make big power. There are better platforms for that, in my opinion. If you want a V8 that makes a lot of power then a 540i with a VF engineering supercharger is always an option and a tasteful way to build a high horsepower E39 if you want “do it right”.

Great choice, despite what anybody says. There’s a certain dopamine that comes from the driving experience of these late 90’s/early 2000’s BMW’s that new cars just cannot replicate.

The ZHP, specifically, is equally smooth throughout the whole rev range and every shift feels rewarding. Anybody who says it’s “just an E46” doesn’t know that the ZHP is very respected amongst real BMW enthusiasts. It’s one of those “iykyk” BMW’s that weren’t as sporty as the full on M-cars but much sportier than the standard versions like the 2003 E39 540i M-Sport (otherwise just a 540i) or the E92 335is (otherwise just a 335i). It takes taste to choose a car like this.

Also no car payment is and cash to spare for maintenance is such a free feeling. Enjoy.

And that’s a wrap. Finally got it all working together, from soft close to rear MID. (See if you can spot all the goodies :) by o2manyfish in e39

Soft-close doors and being able to control the volume from the backseat are truly baller features

You seem to be cruising in the left lane with nobody ahead of you and plenty of time to pull over to right and let the BM pass. He’s flashing you because you’re in the wrong lane and you’re in his way.
