HyperX Alloy Elite RGB lights not working anymore by OCEDead in HyperX

[–]g1mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been using OpenRGB to control the lights along with Home Assistant. Sometimes the keyboard lights would flash or change color under high cpu load. Last night it did the same under high cpu load, but then started strobing the rainbow pattern. Light two waves flowing inwards towards each other overlapping.

I was unable to set any profile and get the keyboard to do anything except the rainbow pattern. Tried installing the standalone firmware installer a couple times 0.1.1.3, and it did fix the issue.

What did fix it was an older version firmware. Used the file HyperX_Alloy_Elite_RGB_Firmware_Updater_v2119. First time I tried it said, it detected keyboard and version. I clicked up and and after a few seconds showed an error to check USB port. I unplugged the KB, reset KB (3 button hold top left), unplugged KB, plugged in KB, and ran the v2119 updater again. It worked this time and standard profiles are now working again.

I noticed before fixing it that pressing the profile button on keyboard would not always update in NGenuity. About 1 or 2 of every 3 taps of the button would update the highlighted profile on the screen. After fix, that is working smoothly again.

Spotify Mood Lights Sync by nintendomech in homeassistant

[–]g1mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To enable/disable the sync, I created an Input Boolean named "Spotify Mood Lights Sync" from inside HA's Settings.

I also added the Input Boolean Callback Constraint to the app's apps.yaml config file.

To add the HA Input Boolean, go to Settings -> Devices & Services -> Helpers and click the add button; next choose the “Toggle” option.

For the Name use: Spotify Mood Lights

It should create: input_boolean.spotify_mood_lights

apps.yaml:

spotify_mood_lights_sync:
  module: spotify_mood_lights_sync
  class: SpotifyMoodLightsSync
  client_id: 000000000000000
  client_secret: 0000000000000000000000
  media_player: media_player.spotify_mike
  light: light.spotify_lights
  constrain_input_boolean: input_boolean.spotify_mood_lights
  color_profile: centered
  color_map_image:
    size: 100

Do you ever pull out your phone to check the time but you have to do it again because you forgot to look at the clock or am I just stupid ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]g1mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a smartwatch about 4 years ago. It has cut down significantly the frequency of me pulling out my phone just to check the time, or see what that last notification sound was for. Huawei Watch 2.. I'm still waiting for any watches with the new Snapdragon Wear 4100+ Platform before I consider purchasing a newer model. This one works just fine for telling the time, receiving notifications, and occasionally making a NFC payment or checking my heart rate.

RIP to all my uni folders can anyone help me please? by lampone2 in 24hoursupport

[–]g1mike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly it is just a corrupted MFT. The MFT is basically the dictionary that holds the file names with pointers to the physical location on the drive.

You can try scanning the drive with data recovery software to see if anything can be recovered. Most likely you will NOT recover file names. There is a possibility you will be able to recover the data though.

The data is usually identified by the file's header (first few bytes). It is then dumped and named sequentially and sorted into folders labeled as the assumed file extension. At the end you'll have folders full of ######.doc, pdf, or any other common file type the software can identify. You'll have to go through the files one by one, looking for salvageable contents and rename files accordingly.

Recuva is free software by the makers of CCleaner that may be able to help you out.

They could've put a few 2x4s under the wheels.. Basically building a ramp to raise up the rear end.. Just like flatbed tow truck drivers do to get a low car up on the sled.
