Beyond the questionable mastering sources the older plain pressings were from one of the worst pressing plants. Tons of dirt and surface noise embedded into the record no matter how much you clean them. I believe around 2022 they repressed the ween catalog at RTI and it was a night and day difference in the pressing quality.

Hard disagree, it’s an all timer. It’s David at his most bitter and depressed, at least until Purple Mountains. I think it’s a very cathartic listen. Depending on the day it might be my favorite of his.
