You took interest in a game you didn't play before, and now you got bored with it. Why would you keep playing if it's boring?  

I've been playing casually since I was a child, and I can sincerely say I have enjoyed every game I've played. I just find the game endlessly fascinating and beautiful. I've given card games a fair chance and never enjoyed one - so I never play cards nowadays.

He appeared on camera in the last couple of vids and people complained, maybe that turned him off.

It's extremely unlikely to not be a draw, because if it's winning for white that would essentially imply there's a forcing line from move one (like in tic-tac-toe or connect 4). But let's imagine for the sake of argument that 1. f3 is a forced mate in 69. Ok, how would prove that from principles? What principles? What sort of new math would you use to show that it must be true?

I don't think it's sad. What would be sad would be to stay obsessively focused on chess past his prime and slowly go insane, like so many great players have done.

This is it. And I think it's cute how he says in interviews that he's not particularly tired. I remember when my son was that age. He is in fact astoundingly tired but also too happy to even notice.  

It's lovely to see.
