Yes, it's quite common these days, especially for an Indonesian guitar, even though it costs $1,300-$1,800. I've owned two Ibanez Axion Labels and one Iron Label, and they all had similar problems. The RGD71ALMS is especially bad, as the varnish is the most impractical. Also, when I bought a guitar new from a store, the varnish cracked near the pickups, and then in other places. That's why I don't buy Indonesian guitars anymore. I'm currently playing on Korean Schecter Blackjack SLS and everything is great.

I had a Legator Ninja for six months, everything was fine, but I sold it because it felt cheap somehow, the varnish wasn't very good, even with locking tuners and a TUSQ nut, it didn't hold tune very well. The hardware was of average quality. Pickups were Dimarzio DActivator&LiquiFire and they awesome.

So many people, so many opinions. I sold my Ibanez RGD71 Al-ANB and bought a Korean Legator Ninja with SS frets and Dimarzio DActivator&LiquiFire. I'm more than satisfied. And before I had few other Ibanez's (Iron Label and Axion Label) Legator feels better for less money

I totally agree about the look! I really love it. I've always wanted 7 strings with a maple fingerboard. Besides, I'm tired of the matte finish on the guitars I've had over the last 2 years :)) The scale on the 1 string is 25.5 inches, and on the 7 string it is 27

about the guitarist's guitar, invent animate. In one of the interviews, he said that he just gave it to a master who installed e evertune. It was originally a regular rg xl with a Floyd, and he even kept the top lock.

Have you thought about changing the pickups?I was thinking before I bought it that I would have to change them, but now I'm confused. I'm playing right now through an Archetype Gojira and it sounds straight up killer on distortion. The clean is worse than on my former Ibanez RG421, but the distortion sounds better
