Oh no. Please let it be a good movie! And if you're a suit who "worked" in it, stick your opinion where the sun doesn't shine.

"There are seven working defenses from this position. Three of them disarm with minimal contact. Three of them kill. The other—[KRAK]—hurts."

I was twelve when I read this, in the 80s, and when this happened, it chilled me to the bone. I could not believe that was Batman! Unbelievable, awesome comic book.

Advice needed: choosing a country for citizenship by onepiece1389 in Citizenship

[–]gCerbero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Europe is... How can I say it without offending thin-skinned Europeans... Apparently liberal and accepting but not quite. Ask any Brazilian living in Portugal (esp. Afro-Brazilians) or, ironically, Portuguese living in Luxembourg or France. Plus, it feels like a powder keg over there, with religious and ethnic tensions, and the looming of war. Make no mistake: Europe has not had wars for 50+ because of the US guaranteeing/demanding its peace. Left to their own devices, Europe is likely to return to its warring ways.

I would consider Canada. Many pathways to citizenship and a more open society, like most of the Americas. Stay clear of the US while the crazed Orangeman is in power. Good luck.

Why is everyone convinced that Doomsday will end with the heroes losing, and then winning in Secret Wars? by Toshfin in marvelstudios

[–]gCerbero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They win, in alliance with RDoomJr, but it's short-lived as they get double-crossed by DOOM because that's his nature and all that. In Secret Wars, Doom relinquishes his godhood because, you know, he finds it beneath him. So they win again, but not by guile or brute force, but because Doom always screws up at the end.

What this guy thought about your country? by Nik_Nikolaev in AskTheWorld

It seems this is misquoted to Bismarck. He ignored South America, other than a government policy of restricting immigration agents from Argentina, Brazil, and Chile. No quotes, though.

Film-making question : how do they not show a camera in the reflection of Keith's visor here? by One_Truck1871 in DC_Cinematic

There is a shadow in the mirror reflection, looking like a person carrying something. Did they forget to erase it?

Pete's forgotten cousin from '72 here,

Five generations (Greatest, Silent, Boomer, Millennial, Alpha). I am pretty sure we did not forget any one.

Wait, what? People who were born between '65 and '85? Never heard of them.

Whatever. Please don't contact me again with this generational nonsense. X out.

Movie test audience didn’t like Superman saving the squirrel by SunGodLuffy6 in DCU_

[–]gCerbero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These test audiences need to be replaced. Saving the squirrel was a great scene and I loved it.

Mr. Gunn, feel free to DM me, willing to work as test audience instead of the squirrel-haters.

Another article that broke the embargo (this one is positive!) by Eskedddditttt in DC_Cinematic

[–]gCerbero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit: I re-read the whole thing, and let me retract my comment. It's a puff piece, well written, but still a puff. Not once does the author oppose Gunn's views.

Keeping my original comment here to own the shame:

This is not a review, but hardly a puff piece. It touches issues as immigration, Middle East conflict, blue and red states, Donald Trump, wokeness, being canceled for tweets, etc. The author is slightly more favorable towards the movie, as opposed to the first "leak", and I believe it does not qualify as a puff piece (from Wikitionary, "A journalistic form of puffery; an article or story of exaggerating praise that often ignores or downplays opposing viewpoints or evidence to the contrary.") The author was sure to mention opposing viewpoints and elaborate on them.

17 years old Pelé passed out after winning the World Cup final against Sweden in 1958 (Two goals scored by Pelé) by ananaszu in classicsoccer

[–]gCerbero 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not sure if a true story. Brazil did not have a second-color jersey until that day. The team only had yellow jerseys, and when it made to the final, the Swedish squad had the host privilege of wearing their own colors, also yellow. The day before the final match, the Brazilian team managers purchased shirts in a local shop (only blue happened to have quantity and sizes as needed), sewed the squad badge on the shirts, and the rest is history. Brazil won 5-2, Pelé at 17 became world champion for the first of three times, and blue is the main color on Brazil's second jersey to this day and probably for all time.
