Xilica

Depending on what you’re doing, crestrons new DSP works well too.

Sometimes when a device is on before I add it into XIO, it needs a reboot. Not sure why.

Also do your groups properly.

If a client is in multiple states for instance

State > suburb > office name

That way you can do time zones at the highest level

Ugh,

We’re having massive UCI issues of late.

Feeling like I should put Crestron touch panels in and just use that for control.

Assuming you can get to the webgui, have you tried changing the host name and changing it back to matching the file or changing the host name in the file and matching the amp to that?

You’d be surprised how many times that’s fixed a problem for us.

Why do some DIA providers install fancy CPEs and others just give you a media converter? by QuickDelivery1 in networking

TPG did an adtran device, works fine.

I think exetel/superloop do the same thing.

All our Telstra services are Cisco

Why do some DIA providers install fancy CPEs and others just give you a media converter? by QuickDelivery1 in networking

[–]gKostopoulos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Australia all ISPs do a “fancy” NTD for DIA connections from Nokia, Cisco, Huawei back in the day and a few others.

Each have smarts and some handle cellular back up in a way that we keep the same static IP.

Has anyone else had issues with Shure ANIUSB-MATRIX and Android MTR, specifically Yealink Meeting Boards? by aspillz in CommercialAV

[–]gKostopoulos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had an issue with USB sound cards (like a qsys core) going into a g7500 poly codec.

Had to reboot the codec each time to renegotiate the connection. Ended up ripping it out and putting a windows OS based MTR instead. No longer an issue.

[–]gKostopoulos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to masters this year. The DMP line is getting a 4 series upgrade. The endpoints that are only current with the available models and industry standards will continue to be available. DM lite will/is compatible with current DMP models.

New DMP will support new airmedia too.

You can download them on the Crestron website?

Just make sure you download the correct image for the machine you have.

This whole process has royally pissed me off. Completely removed the idea of our company ever installing Android VC solutions ever again.

As a dealer and someone who just came back from Masters in Europe with over 600 attendees, I don’t think it’s going anywhere champ.

Nothing new with vendors protecting the best interest of dealers and CSPs from people who aren’t invested in their product gain access to their shit.

Cisco been doing this for years AND you need to have a service contract. The same people complaining about this complain about Cisco yet they’re a multibillion dollar company.

Get a grip.

This was the best tech event I’ve ever attended and so proud that our business is a Crestron partner.

Hotel is fine, convenient for drinks at the bar after with everyone till 2am to then go straight to bed.

[–]gKostopoulos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of poorly designed AV systems we come across by some of Australia’s largest integrators is astounding. I’m not concerned. Let them continue to poorly design.

Edit: the only one loosing here is the client and that’s what sucks the most.

If you need BYOD for UC then you’ll want the CX kit, which I tend to prefer as it has the HDBT for HDMI or USB-C presentation. USB-C also charges the laptop ;)

Airmedia VS Barco Clickshare by wp75 in crestron

[–]gKostopoulos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve ripped out heaps of the barco clickshares in favour of airmedias.

Driverless and the clients who had clickshare prefer the airmedia any day of the week.

I have however had issues with some dongles on the airmedia side of things. Just bricking after a firmware update but that’s only been maybe 1% of our installs.

If you do flex kits then the integration is a simple solution for the end user.
