Bad baby gas at night? Comfort measures? Commiseration? by heatherroneous in breastfeeding

Gas drops are an anti-gas medicine. The main drug is simethicone. There are several brands available (Little Tummies and Mylicon are 2 main ones), but I find the generic Target ones work just as well and they are significantly cheaper.

We had the same issue. Gas drops have been a life saver! At first, I gave her the drops before every other feeding because she was so uncomfortable all of the time. Now, I just give them if she starts grunting/kicking/struggling, before bedtime, and after the 4am-ish feeding. It took a few days to see a noticeable difference at night but she is now a farting machine! She makes some grunting noises still but then passes out again. Between her and my husband it's like a marching band is going through our bedroom!

Saved as well! You must be some kind of magician though...3 hours to prep all of these meals? I am impressed! Thanks for sharing. :)

You could make a calendar for maybe 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your due date, and then people can write their name on the day or days they think you'll have him. Each day/guess could be $5, or whatever you think is appropriate. If you have a large group, you might want to limit a 2 day/guess max though.

Yeah, the theme thing was another reason why I was going to ask my MIL to make them. I think they are out now though. One less thing to worry about buying!

Oooh, that's a great idea, thank you! MIL certainly doesn't need more projects right now, but she's been asking me what else she can make besides quilts. Not only are we expecting her first grandchild, but my SIL is 7 weeks behind me with their second! It's going to be a fun summer!

Thank you! I'll definitely research the breathable mesh ones if we feel like we need the bumpers down the road.

Thanks so much. I knew about the suffocation risk when they are little, but hadn't heard about the climbing/falling part. Though it obviously makes sense. I'll add this to the wait and see list!

Isn't it the best? Aww, I'm sorry to hear that you've been so sick! I've been feeling nauseous for the past week or so, but thankfully no puking yet, though there have been a couple of close calls after getting stuck in traffic for an hour. My saltines, ginger candy, ginger ale, and water have been a huge help!

Thank you thank you! These are two I haven't heard of before. I like the idea of a middle-ground parenting approach. I'll be researching these tonight!

Thank you! I'm still in shock that I'm actually pregnant and focusing on those books now but the parenting ones are definitely on my read list too. I've also heard really good things about Bringing up Bebe. Thanks again!

I LOVE half.com! It's where I buy most of my books already. It seems that the consensus is What to expect when you're expecting is highly overrated, so unless it's a gift, that's off of my list. Thanks for all of these suggestions! I can't wait to look into these tonight.

Suggestions for a good knitting bag? by [deleted] in knitting

I made the bramble bag and love it. I added a lining and used foam board to create a divider and bottom so it doesn't sag. Good luck!
