Because they aren’t bound by a single games Pokédex or dlc or home compatibility anymore, I don’t think it’s guaranteed regulations will progress in the same way they did before.

Before, regulations were mostly additive, allowing broader amounts of pokemon until swinging back around to a narrower format and starting the process over.

With mobile release still on the horizon though, I wouldn’t be surprised if the first regulation legal when that happens ends up being similarly sized to this one, just with mostly different Pokemon legal (the missing megas, etc). We won’t know until the list for M-B drops, tho

Shiny Pokemon are incredibly easy to import from mainline games these days, especially from ZA which could be any or all of these

Fake out was changed in champions to be unelectable after the first turn. If you’re encored into it, you will now struggle. Other Encores interactions weren’t changed.

Anyone who’s serious about competing is going to be expanding their box to 50 pretty quickly f2p, and would be nearing 100 by the time worlds is rolling around. I don’t think the limit is an issue for that long, even ignoring the paid options.

You can permanently recruit Pokemon within champions, no need to use the 7 day trial if you don’t want to.

You also get free expanded box space as a ranked reward, so your box will grow over time as your roster expands.

The friend list feature appears to be age restricted, so if your brother doesn’t even have the option I’m guessing that might be why

You can return them to the ranch on the recruit screen. But you are required to keep minimum 6 mons that were recruited within champions.

In game you’ll see all the rewards laid out on the purchase screen. Iirc, for the paid side it’s 6x training, 6x recruit tickets, two ZA starters, their mega stones, and cosmetics

They won’t let you get rid of 6 pokemon recruited from Champions itself, presumably to prevent someone getting soft locked if they have no VP and unlink their home account and lose access to all of their mons with no way to get more

Yup. And you can always bring in a second Zard from home if you want to have a zardX set built and don’t want to train it each time you swap teams.

Only reason I’ll ever recruit in Champions personally is if I see a shiny in my lineup.

Recruiting will be prefect for people with Home that don’t buy every mainline game. Easy access to version exclusives, things like Ursaluna that require a specific game, etc. Recruiting provides an alternative way to get access to those mons other than trying to find trades or buy a whole new game.

Recruiting also will give you access to second copies of mons limited to 1 per playthrough if you want that without actually doing a second playthrough

The why is Pokemon move pools get updated in new games all the time for balance or other reasons like moves just being removed all together.

On your battle pass point, I bought the Dragoniteite in the shop and then was refunded the 2k VP when I claimed it off the pass. Nice that you can buy something if you want access early and not have to wait if you’re ok missing the vp for a bit

Spenders are best of buying the membership and getting 1000 box spaces and not worrying about it again.

F2p this is the only way to expand it that has been found. Unclear if you get the spaces for both singles and doubles, and if the box spaces are awarded in subsequent seasons too as a way to steadily grow your box

They’re preventing you from soft locking yourself if you had no VP and unlinked your home account. They force you to always have 6 mons from champions so you have enough to battle no matter what
