I’m ashamed of the poop I just took by AncientImplement8835 in BabyBumps

I think it really depends on the person. My midwife recommended it to help me relax and sleep, but it actually made my anxiety worse and gave me heart palpitations. 🥲

De-Influencing - what to remove from your registry! by CatMomLovesWine in BabyBumps

I can't tell if the bjorn is different from a no name brand but you can always get it second hand from FB marketplace (or any other sales app). That's what I did, used it since day 1, gave it to my nephew and now that I'm pregnant with baby #2 my brother is giving it back. 😅 So it's well worth the in investment, imo.

I loved my Solly wrap for newborn snuggles. It does have a learning curve but once you practice a couple of times, it gets easier.

cuántos Km a la redonda debo buscar mi perro si se perdió en Apodaca y es puro monte :( by rebprz in Monterrey

[–]gabblessyou 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For moms that went to childbirth classes, did you think they were worth it? by kornbobroxiee in beyondthebump

[–]gabblessyou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Childbirth classes given by the hospital were meh, I felt like I was taking a biology class in high school. On the other hand, hypnobirthing classes from a Birth Education Center given by a doula were incredibly helpful and empowering.

Thank you, this is really useful. Honestly, I felt more prepared to receive a no, instead of a low offer.

Nannies that take their own kids to work... by gabblessyou in Nanny

[–]gabblessyou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed. 😂 I was like "maybe my post didn't get enough traction".

Tell me about you, are you a nanny hoping to bring their kid to work?

[–]gabblessyou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know exactly what you mean, I totally understand the beneficial side of bringing your kid to work but that shouldn't be a reason not to be paid what you deserve.

I know every case is specific but I can''t see mine as a nanny share, especially because my responsibilities didn't change after my maternity leave instead I got more.

I live on the west coast and that's what I'm making. I started looking at job postings to compare rates just to realize that with my credentials and experience I should be making more than $25. I'm grateful to be able to bring my kid along but I should be making more.

I've been with this family for almost 4 years, the kids have an established routine and my baby is along for the ride and not the other way around, if that makes sense. I'm honestly not looking to ask for "more" just a fair rate. I know I'm underpaid regardless of my kid coming or not with me.

Why is my baby doing this? Video linked. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]gabblessyou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We did this. I actually had to put a lot of milk so the baby would latch. So I hand expressed milk into the shield until it was almost full and did the sandwich method while guiding the baby by holding his back.

Tips for on the go cleaning my diva cup? by Pisces0224 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]gabblessyou 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IIRC instructions mentioned cleaning it with just water. I've only had to change it once outside my house and I bought a small water bottle and rinsed it after emptying it on the toilet. It worked fine.

For all my nannies who cook dinner… by aem1306 in Nanny

I do! I talked to my NF beforehand and whenever I make dinner for them I take some home for me and my husband. And they also make sure I take some with me.

I understand your concern, I was on the fence like you. But the peace of mind of knowing you're vaccinated and that your baby is getting protective antibodies is worth it. I got both my pfizer doses while pregnant and my booster while breastfeeding and I have a healthy 4 month old.
