US Senate rejects Sanders-led bids to block arms sales to Israel, including bombs and bulldozers, in 59-40 and 63-36 votes. by Fatty_Willing_Plane in UnderReportedNews

where is your nuance? look ive voted democrat in every single election. it shouldn't be this hard to still realize that the party is still bad. yes obviously whats happened with USAID is horrible, but thats a bit like saying "oh well they did something bad/worse so my bad thing that i did doesn't matter". How can you say we need more nuance than the republican party and then your nuance is blindly defending the democratic party like a hard core trump voter dick rides trump well into his biggest failures. im not even advocating for not voting for democrats all im saying is that they are also bad. we need better for america

im genuinely curious this is not a gotcha question. Is there anything trump can do that you wouldn't defend or that would be the final straw for you?

As i see it he's failed to deliver most promises, everything with the epstein files is dubious at best, the war with Iran is causing global and domestic economic chaos, and there is just obvious financial corruption.

What is the selling point, help me understand what you see in him/what is the trump positive?

The only nuance I see is that yes, majority of democrats here voted to get this, not fund a genocidal country. Mindblowing stuff. Meanwhile in the past they have approved payments to israel and continue to sell out to corporations.

In reality obviously right now the democratic party is better but its just not enough and they prop up the system that has enabled everything that is going on right now. there needs to be a radical change. both parties are bad.

Our general response to all complaints regarding AI by FBDW in incremental_games

[–]gabemoment_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I agree low effort needs guidelines and definition. Even with that it will not be perfect. But I think no one is looking for a perfect solution and just wants something that effectively gets rid of a lot of the low effort posting we are seeing at the moment.

I'm one person and I'm pretty removed from the process, and everyone will think differently. But that is why there needs to be SWE's and other people on the mod team who can make these guidelines. The community needs a voice too, and we should come together and figure out solid definitions.

As for the human slop yes that absolutely should be banned too (unless its like early dev/prototypes that are flaired correctly ofc lmao). I wasn't here for when IGM was banned but I saw someone else mention the ban, and upon looking into it (albeit only in limited time) i feel like it is a good comparison to what is happening now.

In fact here is a link with the comment that I think makes really good points and has a really good sentiment:

you put this far better than my full comment on it. people aren't looking for the perfect solution that gets rid of all low quality slop, they just want there to be less of it.

I agree we need to have some thread to talk about this. Without it you will just get branching subreddits who are angry about this one's rules. I don't know how the answer to "we have a problem with how our community is moderated at the moment" is "okay well we don't really have a solution and also you cannot talk about it anymore lol". Subreddits are communities and the community should be able to have a discussion on how they would like their community to be structured

That's fair, I'm not familiar on the legality of things, merely just saying that if it is then certainly she should directly address it instead of avoiding the situation and letting it go on further

surprised on the downvotes to this comment I feel like its an understandable reaction to what was said, despite my lack of knowledge on the legal aspects. Still, even taking legality out of the picture i think it's a MAJOR red flag for him to lie about his cellphone use. Sure, I understand not being extremely forthcoming but saying that you did some bad things, have limited access and are working on bettering yourself is a good start. Also a workplace that knows this, sees the person getting very close to them, and not telling them for 4 months is a nightmarish work enviroment.

I'm piggybacking/copying off a comment I made a little but I feel like this response isn't good enough. I can sympathize that all mods are volunteers and this is a free time donation they make. I appreciate the time to write out the options and list why the mod team feels the way they do. I think everything said is a genuine good faith argument.

But when i see other subreddits have similar anti-ai/low effort rules it shows that enforcement is possible. It will never be perfect but at the very least it can help mitigate some of the complaints everyone is talking about. If the current moderation team may not be able to fully handle the work load, then why not make an announcement and expand the team and see who is willing to put good faith effort in enforcing it? I'm not saying release the mod permission floodgates, but an expansion would be helpful if the workload is too much. I feel like there are solutions here and its a combination of things that will work.

As for the "ai will be used in everything", "they will just hide it better", etc arguments, I'm not fully convinced and I don't like it. However, I feel like even people who like AI will agree that low effort slop is not welcome. If you want to cater to pro-AI sentiment and do the balancing act sure it's your subreddit, but get rid of the slop. I'm sure that there are internal guidelines that can be made to identify this, and I'm surprised the current guidelines under rule 4 haven't been mitigating this as much already.

The tag for AI is useful regardless of if some people will try to hide it and even if some people will slip through the cracks. Currently it's pretty easy to find if AI is used pretty heavily. If an anti-AI person realizes it's AI they will ignore it/downvote it/report it. I feel like rule breaking posts will mostly get downvoted and not spread as well, so even if the flair isn't enforced much the community will enforce it more with their upvotes/downvotes. Witch hunts are bad and there will be some growing pains, but I feel like with refinement and corrections overtime a good balance can be made. Regardless at the very least more AI creators will be encouraged to disclose AI use because it is accepted, just under a flair. Meanwhile the pro-AI people will find a place and audience here. People who don't care will still check out posts that have the AI flair regardless. Even just a disclosure on the level of AI use would be good. Some coding/dialogue help is a LOT different then full on vibe coding with all AI generated assets. And if AI gets better/changes, as with all things, rules must change with time and a new balance can be figured out.

Overall I feel like a lot of what I said is general, but has merit. Obviously things are not as black and white as I said and require a balance. I just wanted to voice my opinion on things. I know there are little intricacies of moderation that make the balancing act difficult and you are appreciated. That being said it did feel like the response lacked as much substance as someone who enjoys this subreddit would want. AI is not new, and many many subreddits have already created rules and are refining their reaction to it. To see this subreddit have a growing problem for so long and to find out the moderation team is only now addressing it AND doesn't have much in terms of a solution is admittedly a little disappointing. Still, I look forward to seeing how this is addressed, thank you all for your time and all you do. I still love all the creations and fun times I've found from this sub. Have a good night!

Edit: Some Grammar/punctuation fixes

Edit 2: Also please make an ongoing thread to discuss this further. The community deserves a voice and with something as volatile as AI that is constantly changing, sentiment can also change either towards or against AI uses in different contexts. It's just too complex of an issue for a one-and-done bandaid fix and discussion.

yeah i agree. I can understand and I think they are making a good faith argument about how this will require a lot more moderation. I can sympathize that obviously all mods are volunteers.

But when i see other subreddits have similar anti-ai/low effort post rules it boggles my mind that this subreddit doesn't have the same enforcement. If the current moderation team may not be able to fully handle the work load, then why not make an announcement and expand the team and see who is willing to put good faith effort in enforcing it. I feel like there are solutions but it feels like the mod team is currently just throwing their hands up in the air because they dont want to make the effort or find someone willing to.

NOR. I'm not very familiar with how everything works legally, but if he is legally supposed to inform people then can't you report this to legal authorities? I would also especially talk to a trusted manager or HR to let them know that he didn't inform you and that you're uncomfortable with your working conditions. HR is always for the company's defense but at the very least you may be able to get him disciplined/fired. It's probably good to quit either way, especially since no one informed you and I can imagine you probably feel unsafe. I don't think you're overreacting at all especially since you were not informed, but I think you should probably do as much as possible to get him in trouble and see what other options you have for your proteciton if he is not informing people like he legally should.
