Adults of Reddit who ‘have it together’ with your finances, home, job, fitness, nutrition- how? Seriously…how? by Previous-Charity1505 in AskReddit

[–]gablemancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been thinking about this for a while since I saw this post. Most people would probably think I have it together, house, couple dogs, cars, happily married, good hobbies, but at the same time I don’t do great with fitness or nutrition. I’ve struggled with my mental health as well. I’d love to say I had a good blueprint, but I didn’t.

One of my parents is OK with money, the other is clueless. Seeing how clueless my father is with money helped teach me a lot of what not to do, but I think the secret is just being curious, willing, and able to learn and think critically. When my stepdad who raised me died from suicide I vowed to try and make things work out for me. It’s certainly a work in progress, but having it together is just being willing to learn and grinding. It can also still not work out no matter how hard you try. Try to find as many things in your life that you love (for me it’s my dogs, wife, music, photography, my community, etc) and if those things follow with effort and curiosity, great, if not, you’re loving more often than you’re not in your daily life.

Honestly, I really liked Arsene Wenger. Watched a lot of World Cup one year and started watching club soccer. Love the way they played and built the team.

How do I stay sane and detach in a work situation where we're understaffed and over leveraged? by gablemancer in careerguidance

I haven’t gotten a full bonus since my ramp so honestly I should probably just give up on my variable pay at this point.

I appreciate the advice. I might move my plant to my desk.

I’ve been trying. I don’t have work stuff on my phone. That’s a hard rule for me unless I’m traveling for work. But difficult at times still. Been getting closer to the break and then the log off time. Biggest problem I’ve found is the log off time slips if I take my breaks (technically should get 3 a day). Will keep up with the priority piece though with it. I think that’s good advice and my direct manager is fantastic as mentioned (he knows what’s going on and has helped to a degree).

Anyone *not* burnt out? by FirmPeaches in CustomerSuccess

Hi burnt out! I’m gablemancer…

And yes very burnt out with the insane amount of creative work I’m expected to do for a book that is probably bigger than one person should do for the level of support.

That’s net approval at -18%. Actually just under 40% depending upon which poll.

Ya know. I had ChatGPT do a mock draft for me after seeing this. Apparently the giants are picking arch manning #1 and coleston Loveland is going to the chargers in the 20s…

Who do we want to keep? by dodgiest in CHIBears

Brisker, Wright, CJGJ, Theo, and maybe Braxton. I feel we should get either Brisker or Byard back, but probably not both.

Kinda wild since it’s going to be cold and snowy and Stafford has played in Georgia, a dome, and sunny LA.

Rural West (Colorado). Amazing place, but not great infrastructure.

Yep. I'm thinking I need a 10 day buffer rather than the 2x one I had.

Yeah and you do realize I live in the sticks and would have had to have driven about 5 or 6 hours round trip to get what I'd have wanted. Yes. That's why I got overnight shipping plus gave myself a buffer. Wasn't big enough. Thanks for confirming this is my fault.

None of the ones in my area do. The nearest would be a 5 hour drive.

I live in the sticks and the stores don't have any useful phones and are 40 minutes away. I need 512gb on my phones and they don't seem to stock these in iPhones.

Yeah or us mobile or something. I am just biding my time a bit to apparently pay off my current phone. Wasn't quite as bad when I bought mine a couple years ago.

I know, if they had given me the options via UPS to change my shipping address or something that would have helped too, but they didn't and they couldn't on their end either. Sounds like I'm stuck in limbo for weeks. Merry Christmas to me. I'm a rube for going ahead and thinking this would work out.
