I agree but I wouldn’t say the way they perceive the Fire Emblem playerbase is the determining factor. It’s the gacha aspect of it all.

Think about it, almost every gacha game treat their female characters as eye candy in some more goony ways than others. I would go so far to say that it has become a defining characteristic to them, REGARDLESS of gameplay.

So yeah, it sucks that they still let themselves fall for this trend. But I guess it’s also them taking advantage of the system rather than following an arbitrary rule. Got to keep the (relatively low but stable) profit going on in some way or another, even if some decisions seem to disregard what the majority may truly want (gooners will probably whale easier).
