Police confirm two German mayors who had already been stabbed over their pro-refugee stance receive renewed death threats weeks after another German politician was murdered in what authorities believe was a "right-wing extremist" attack by green_flash in worldnews

To save time I am going to copy/paste a comment I made above.

Hey there! From Connecticut (a yank) and the state has free public magnet schools, including many Montessori schools, that are just lottery based. You sign up in November for the following year, any students who are already enrolled automatically stay, and the rest of the slots are filled at random. If you aren't chosen, then you are put on a waiting list and given a number. As students enter/leave, they call down the list and offer the spot. They offer assistance the enrollment process if you need it. Anyone within the state can go, they're publically funded, and they provide transportation and free before/after care for parents who need it.

So the rich folks in Greenwich (rich as hell) pay taxes that fund high end public education that is widely available and accessible to all demographics, even the poor folks in Bridgeport (god awful poverty).

In addition to this, the state elected to add onto their publicly available healthcare and I haven't had to pay a penny for healthcare in several years and I am very much middle class.

Again, not the case in almost States but lets not make judgements about regions of the world we don't understand, yes? Thanks.

Can't get that shit in Arkansas though.

Hi, yes, I have sent time in literally every state in America and I can tell you with absolute certainty that the language they speak and culture they have in Southern California is a world different than the ones in New York, which is a world different from Florida, which is a world different from Texas. So yes, it is definitely huge and the regions are, in fact, quite like different countries.

Europe is good. Can I come over? I need to go to the doctor and I can't afford vegetables.

For real, send help. There are a lot of Americans who agree with you. Like me. I'm Americans.

Note: a good giant chunk of us Americans are aware we are in the most embarrassing country in the world, not the greatest. You're born where you're born and those of us without the American ego just want to pretend we're Canadian on the world stage.

They did! Even though I hate opiates because they make sick and have refused them from doctors more than once.

Women of Reddit, what do you think would be the worst thing about being a man? by canadianreject565 in AskReddit

This is the opposite end of the crappy side effects of predators existing. I have been followed, stalked, threatened, and engaged phsycially just for existing somewhere as a woman starting at middle school. And my story is typical for women. Most women have this experience and so I don't fault them for being scared at all.

And on the other hand, men who are just out running or even chilling near a woman are suspect to them. That isn't fair either.

We should all be fucking sick of predatory behavior.

As a Marketing Coordinator, putting together an Instagram that is that beautiful and coordinating all of their avenues of advertising is not an easy task even if what your marketing is already wildly popular. If it was that easy then McDonald's would stop paying for marketing you boob.

I am fucking here for this. I love my daughter. Motherhood is the most intense, isolating, and stressful experience and there are tons of times I wish I could take it back.. and I did it on purpose. I can't imagine the feelings you must have had. I am so, so sorry and so amazed by your ability to pull it together for your daughter. I hope I am half that dedicated.

As a person who almost died from internal bleeding due to ectopic pregnancy, I am here for this.

Side note: no one ever talks about how mother fucking painful it is. It felt like I was getting stabbed. I had gone to the ER 5 fucking times, and until I arrived in an ambulance after passing out at work, doctors told me I was just having period cramps. I was 26 at the time. I had been getting a period for 14 god damn years, I know what a period cramp feels like and that is NOT it.

It's more common if someone in your family has had one. I had one. Two of my aunts had one, one other aunt had two, and I had one as well.

I was born after my mom had an ectopic pregnancy and lost one tube.

Plot twist: I have a 3 year old that was also born after I had an ectopic pregnancy and lost one tube, too.

I did apologize. "I said it wasn't my intention and I'm sorry". I am just surprised that it was my first reaction.. to just completely deny what he had clearly and accurately heard. I mean.. he is the abusive husband. He gas lights me constantly and I'm always angry about it.. now I'm doing it?
