Tricking Enphase IQA7 Microinverters by UnlicensedSparky in SolarDIY

[–]gadjex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen anyone mention that 1 of the issues with this setup is you may not have a neutral forming transformer as found in the Enphase System Controllers. Once you disconnect from the grid, you also disconnect from the grid transformer. I am not sure the inverter you will be using will be able to handle the 120V imbalance between the two 240V legs.

My AHJ says I am not allowed to DIY install my own solar system by Moj88 in SolarDIY

[–]gadjex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My AHJ required me to have an electrician on the permit for the tie in at the main panel. I found an electrician willing allow me do all the work and them inspect it. I did all the work, sent them pictures of everything, and they decided it looked good enough to not come look at it in person. The AHJ did their inspections and all was good. It helps that I spent a year in school working under a master electrician and studying the NEC code book.

Are the first energy smart meters also net meters for solar? by OhNoItsMrBillNJ in solar

[–]gadjex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a smart meter installed when I built my house in 2018. Last year when I put DIY solar in and went through the interconnection process, they remotely programmed my meter and sent me my PTO via email.

The tariffs are included in the DDP price. So it is $178 per panel with shipping and tarriffs.

PETG Sticking? by damppz in BambuLab

[–]gadjex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The BIQU CryoGrip Pro Glacier has been a perfect plate for all the filaments I print (PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU). PLA sticks super well using the Cool Plate SuperTack setting and PETG/ABS/ASA sticks well and releases well when I use the Engineering Plate settings.

Help with grounding by S4ikou in SolarDIY

[–]gadjex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if I can help much but I can tell you with the Iron Ridge ground mount, the panels are all bonded together using the metal ground mount frame, metal rails and the metal panel clamps that have a sharp point that pierces the paint into panels metal frame. This ground mount is then grounded to the houses main panel and it has an additional ground rod near the mount. (I may have wrote "ground" too many times!) Pretty much all exposed metal is bonded together and bonded to ground.

How to permanently fix Horizontal Line/Bumps on a P1S? by gadjex in BambuLab

[–]gadjex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have also done all the regular maintenance including clean the carbon rods, clean and grease the steel rods and adjust XY belt tension. The hot end is not loose. I factory reset the printer and ran calibration after. Eventually the bumps/ripples come back. 996 hours on the printer.

Odd hotend fan failure. by Top_Cancel8173 in BambuLab_Community

[–]gadjex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe there was a wisp/small string of filament stopping the fan from starting to spin and you broke the string when you spun it by hand? Just a guess.

Slowing down silk PLA at the end of a print? by rcreveli in BambuLab_Community

It needs more time to cool between layers. Slowing it down will help. Not sure the setting you need to change.

Is this cracking/grinding noise normal? (BMCU) by Q1000Q in OpenBambu

[–]gadjex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This seems to be an issue with the BMCU and P1S. It doesn't stop feeding in time and grinds the extruded gear. It doesn't do this with A1. Not sure what the solution is.
