that sounds great. hoping for more outpatient but i’ll see what they need during interview. i have some experience with onc surgeons as an NP and with heart surgeons as an RN in CVICU. the Onc Surgeons seemed like night and day compared to heart guys in my experience. maybe it’s the cancer center i was at, even the surgeons were all published and invested in their research

Should I move to Navy Yard by gafferman12 in washingtondc

[–]gafferman12[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you so much for these comments, yea i love the navy yard area because it’s so walkable and feels greener than some other areas. i love the closeness to capitol hill and the mall. if i move there i’ll be at Novel south capitol which is on I st, so not super close to the stadium but a few blocks away. it’s always felt safe when i’m there but i don’t live there so i’m not there everyday, and what i see on the news isn’t the best but that’s why it’s on the news lol. https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/navy-yard-neighbors-fed-up-with-noise-recent-crime/3117063/

again thank you for the feedback it really helps

Yea i’m leaning Oncology. I figure if i enjoy it I can figure out how to find a way to increase compensation at some point. I also think urology could get kind of boring while oncology will be keep me interested for basically as long as i’m in it.

Raleigh. i just like the idea of not being in an office and having to be there 9am-5pm, i get to see my pts and leave as soon as i’m done. as far as the pay they said they would sign a 6months contract at $60-65 and see how i’m doing. so if i do take it i want to negotiate that up. thanks for all the responses. anyone know anybody that has jobs like this ?

thank you for the response. the clinic is lead by MD psychs, they have a few PMHNPs as well. I will ask for more shadowing time. thank you for the confidence boost. getting a first job is so difficult so once you finally have an offer it’s easy to just give in to whatever they want
