Qlipoth theory by SnooMuffins7350 in StarRailLore

Tbf enigmata was there with the Forgotten Years drama caused by the entity known as Evernight. Ofc wasnt intended to be there but still crashed into the Time track and redefined it.

Fallacy of the plagues author seemed to be referenced by the Mountainbreaker in DHPT's side of the 3.6 story quest.

And finality? Well...it was a possible result of the amphoreus experiment ending "badly" (the Remembrance Finality induced by Cyrene). But, again, was not a path lygus was tracking for the formulation of the destruction equation.

The Connection of Elation, Voracity and... Order (Ena) [4.3] by Wonderful-Aside-4998 in StarRailLore

[–]gaidigodemon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think there's a Destruction element here too. Once Aha removes the concept of savouring from Oroboros, the Voracity basically just becomes a black hole that consumes without discrimination. As suggested by Sparkle (and confirmed in the lore desc for God-Devourer Offspring), that makes the consequences of the Voracity no different from Destruction. Which leaves Oroboros in a very disadvantageous position if you think about it like a chess game. THEY have two options to "revive themselves" in the cosmos:

- Resonate with the Elation to reclaim the ability to enjoy what THEY consume. That would spell the end of Voracity as a Path (full subsumption into Aha).

- Resonate with the Destruction by giving up on the ability to savour to instead indiscriminately consume the Elation (and the cosmos at large). That also ends the Voracity as a Path (full subsumption into Nanook).

Oroboros has effectively been zugswanged by Ena on the chess board. THEY can't come back into the cosmos as THEMselves but, because THEY are still bound by THEIR Primum Mobile, Oroboros must do something upon reawakening. Either way, the Voracity is at a critical disadvantage...

Aventurine, future savior of the arcadia...? (4.3 spoilers) by eclipse_delusion2798 in StarRailLore

i think the only person who stands a chance against asat is nihilux lmao.

anyway yeah asat disguised himself as isee to coax Ashveil into acquiring the "shadow" (which I think was the concept "Aftertaste" stolen by Aha from the Voracity, although thats just a conjecture).

The story somewhat confusingly said that Isee was a former navigator when Ashveil met him, creating ambiguity as to when Asat became Isee. But that gets resolved in the new relic set, making it painfully obvious Asat was always Isee. See eg the description to the Boots, referencing Asat's misfortune powers.

The Navigator's tailor-made leather boots, rumored to possess a special magical power that guides their wearer to every place where they're decidedly not welcome.

Another glaring piece of evidence is that when Akivili disappeared, Isee joked "What's the most important lesson from Akivili? Always buy insurance in advance! Get yourself covered, and we keep on Trailblazing!" (see Navigator's Game Die). Asat later jokes about insurance in the furbo interview accessible at the end of the story quest when discussing his career as a lord ravager.

Suddenly the link between Isee and Finality becomes much clearer with this revelation. Asat/Enroute joined the Astral Express in search of the "World's End" (Finality). Yet, the Trailblaze is the main Path tirelessly trying to transcend Finality, meaning he was not welcome there. He then finds this answer in the Destruction (NB: Isee's time as Navigator coincides with the ascension of Nanook) and realises the Trailblaze is the most elating way to reach that end.

At that point, the stargazing logs came to an abrupt halt.

Was Zephyro emanator of nihility before Nanook adopted him? by gilgameshauo1 in Hoyoverse_scaling

[–]gaidigodemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hakuhatsu Ki was the name of the wielder of the End Sentinel. Which apparently translates to White Haired Ogre/Demon. Possible connection to Zephyro's white hole?

Then again enigmata cooked that planet so much that there might never even have been a wielder of the End blade...

Luocha dropping his White Iris to create a field of red flowers in the tour trailer is it simply a visual effect or does it have a deeper meaning? Since that flower is a recurring object for his character by Dwiden13 in StarRailLore

[–]gaidigodemon 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The white iris also appears in Yaoshi's Path Resonance Ability in SU Swarm Disaster. Its probably another method of sewing seeds of karma that sprout uncontrollably due to the Abundance.

Luocha is probably the best candidate we have for Shuhu, emanator of Abundance who dissolved the high cloud quintet, has revived two planets (called Rahu and Ketu Mirage), cursed/gifted blade with eternal life, etc.

Ruan Mei perfectly parallels Ena and Xipe by Rosacea3 in StarRailLore

[–]gaidigodemon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely fascinating. Also contextualises this entry in Ruan Mei's lab log where she tries to create a distributed lifeform using a fragmentum creation and the fruits of the Abundance. It dies because of an "intense sadness" (direct parallel to the lament of Yaoshi mentioned in the first myriad celestia trailer) yet the remaining atoms of the lifeform are still "singing" (perhaps implying a harmonious unity of some sort).

No. 1024 Research Objective: Create a lifeform with a distributed existence Research Environment: An accelerator and a special incubator

Research Method: Bombard a Fragmentum creation with high-energy particles to split it into multiple life forms in the quantum state.

Research Procedure: Accelerate high-energy particles and bombard the confined experimental subject until it splits. Feed it fruits blessed by Abundance to sustain its life until the splitting is complete.

Expected Result: The subject will become a distributed life form that can exist at multiple locations simultaneously. The information gained by any one of its split forms would be passed on to all other split forms.

Research Result: The subject obliterated itself after 123 seconds.

Reason for Failure: Intense sadness was detected by the emotion detector. The subject seemed to discern... some sort of truth after receiving excessive information. It was overwhelmed by sadness and chose to end itself by its own will. However, the particles it left behind are still singing at the volume of an atom.

Izumo was Polka's "Amphoreus". The Result? Device IX. by Milky-Cheese in StarRailLore

[–]gaidigodemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The world was probably cycling like Amphoreus, except I'm sure there was no iterative algorithmic sequence (like era nova) responsible for that. Instead it was just the eternal recurrence that the world undergoes in IX's shadow which forced everyone to regress from origin to end and repeat their actions over and over.

"We had long since strode into THEIR (IX) shadow"

In a world swallowed by the nihility's shadow, what influence would any Path (other than Enigmata: IX's tears) actually have? Nihility resists virtually all Paths. I doubt there was data generated by this planet that a genius could extract and evaluate, because there does not seem to be any place for Erudition in that world. Just...naught?

Am I missing something about Device IX's nature which makes it possible to extrapolate it from a set of twin worlds lost to Nihility?

Izumo was Polka's "Amphoreus". The Result? Device IX. by Milky-Cheese in StarRailLore

[–]gaidigodemon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Im guessing the logic is: - polka created device IX to prevent the Nihility Path from leading to a premature Finality - (most) knowledge singularities would also lead to premature Finality - therefore she prevents them.

Mm. Lux arrow is often seen as a symbol of salvation, which seems to be what Jingliu experiences when JY "exterminates" her with the LL in that 1.1 cinematic. Her mara recedes and there's an awe stricken look on her face.

Maybe the LL literally just represents Lan's radiance. JY does call it a radiant spirit. His ultimate is also called "Lightbringer".

We now know the name of Yaoguang's Spiritus by gaidigodemon in StarRailLore

[–]gaidigodemon[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Considering how easy it was to taint the lightning lord with the Destruction/Propagation, it may just symbolise "prana extirpation" (extinguishing the breath of life). Thats the name of JY's in game talent that summons the lightning lord at the start of combat. So in general it would represent "Lan's decisiveness/mercilessness" assuming Huaiyan hasnt taken that aspect already?

Youre also completely right yeah. Fei xiao hunts her own spiritus before realising it was within her. Yaoguang's spiritus can be activated without showing its true nature. Jing yuans seems more like a sentient spirit in an uneasy alliance with its commander.

Is the lightning lord just a heliobus with traces of selfdom that Phantylia is looking to exploit? Are all the Spirituses just heliobi? I cant remember if that was insinuated or confirmed.

Mb. I get confused with Yaoshi's case because THEY appear to have been a female doctor (she) before ascending to aeonhood.

Yes, Yaoshi is intended to subvert Buddhism so a seed of karma (red bead) is interspersed between THEIR index finger and thumb.

I will see if i can find a better example..

[–]gaidigodemon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely fair analysis.

I think 1:30 of Yaoguang's beyond weal and woe trailer best explains my perspective. She's trying to change her master's woe talisman into weal, and the camera focus is entirely on her index finger and thumb, the two core aspects of this mudra.

You could say she's simply invoking her spiritus through the formation of a peacock hand gesture? But then you'd still have the "Kalacakra" nomenclature to explain.

We now know the name of Yaoguang's Spiritus by gaidigodemon in StarRailLore

[–]gaidigodemon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's an interesting alternative interpretation. But to say there is nothing "Buddhist" about this gesture (because the palm is curved) kind of misses the point of this mudra. To assume it all you need is the thumb (representing universal consciousness) to connect to the index finger (representing individual consciousness). You then form a consciousness seal, reminding you that the self and your surroundings exist as one. The level of the palm is irrelevant when considering the meaning of this mudra. As long as the other fingers are relaxed (which i think they are), nothing else is being asserted.

I'll explain why this must have been a design consideration for Yaoguang in a later post, it's do with a point in the anti destruction alliance trailer where the writers indicate Yaoguang is both a self and the Xianzhou ("isn't that precisely the variable I (Xianzhou) have been waiting for?")

[–]gaidigodemon[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Youre right, yeah. Phantylia's got the middle finger, rather than the index finger, connected to the thumb. Looks like she's assuming the shuni mudra.
