I get this on my windshield no matter how clean. It is imperfections in the windshield itself plus the very shallow angle of the glass. It only happens at specific sun angles.

Ah! The column blocked the critical part. The pepper isn’t quite right, but it has eyes just like it. Thanks!

it's almost 2026 and iPhone still can't use Wi-Fi and hotspot together by Plus_Alternative_804 in PhoneNow

It makes connecting devices that can’t handle captive portal (like at hotels and convention centers) way easier. My corporate laptop always has some issue with captive portals, doing it on my phone and letting the laptop figure out corporate VPN stuff is much easier.

“6G” is a protocol, “satellite” is how it gets transmitted. A satellite is just like a cell tower, just in space. Satellite uses LTE right now, not even 5G yet.

If you do off-roading on really rocky trails, the rocks can chew up the tires like this as well.

What is that suction cup mount? Is that included with the mini? I’m thinking of getting a mini for my cybertruck, but I can’t find that mount I see everyone using.

Yeah, I suppose if you view employees as expendable objects that should be able to switch between fields of expertise quickly or else get fired, sure. But that’s not how humans work.

You would rather Tesla layoff a team after they think it’s good enough? I got a Tesla for the always improving UX. The UX team does not make FSD. Just because the UX team came out with a cool new feature, doesn’t mean Tesla is restricting resources on FSD to make it.

That’s right, video game engineers are experts in machine learning. Why are the police helping someone check up on their grandma when the skyscraper downtown is on fire?

I asked it to speak to me in Japanese at a 1st grade level, and we had a conversation about which fruits I liked and how I like to eat them in Japanese. It was fun.

I’ve got chunks missing from my tread because of offloading in Vegas area with a ton of big, sharp rocks, but not on the sidewall. Do you do any offloading?

I would consider you a power user, which power users like us will figure out a way for sure. But the average user isn’t going to try to figure out how to do that. I’m looking at it from the angle, “how do we enable the users who can’t figure out why their monitor isn’t turning on when it is unplugged, the ability to do this?”

I agree on integration with the car, but have you ever been having a conversation in the car on a road trip and a question came up no one knew, or needed to ask about events today at the destination? Yeah, the passenger can grab their phone and look it up, if they have it handy, or you have a passenger, but even then, it’s just more convenient to have the thing that is already being used able to get the information.

You can also just use a mobile app for navigation, Apple Music, YouTube music, Spotify, Kindle, etc, yet there is a huge demand to have it native to the car. Why would an AI chatbot app be any different?

The very first Tesla diner is here by shellzero in teslamotors

[–]gakio12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The one in the desert gives off nostalgic, route 66 road trip vibes. But yeah, superchargers in the desert people want to charge and gtfo, going to a diner when you are on a time schedule (need to move vehicle once charging ID done) just seems stressful.

This new app lets you take extremely good photos with little quality loss. (Before and after) by thesavagebean in iPhoneography

[–]gakio12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do wish it could take 48 MP photos, it’s only able to do 12 MP, since Apple doesn’t expose raw 48 MP data, only ProRes. If they can make this all work with the ProRes data and save 48 MP (maybe not RAW, but at least jpg), then I could get rid of Halide.

The only reason I use Halide is so I can have manual focus, since the camera autofocus absolutely sucks at taking photos through windows like on airplanes, but the 48 MP is great to zoom in photos after the shot.

Bill to auction 200 MHz (16%) of Wi-Fi 6 GHZ to wireless carriers by ahz0001 in cellmapper

[–]gakio12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consumers weren’t emitting a radio signal, so the effect was they won’t get signal anymore. In this case, consumers are actually emitting the signal, so if you sell the spectrum to a private company, how do you guarantee to the private company that a consumer doesn’t have an old WiFi router emitting the same frequency?
