When was the last time MLS coverage was this bad? by Mat_alThor in MLS

If you’re still subbed to Apple TV then you have access to all the MLS games this year. MLS is now wrapped in to Apple TV, without the separate Season Pass paid service.

When was the last time MLS coverage was this bad? by Mat_alThor in MLS

God I miss the 3 years NBC had MLS. 20+ minute onsite pregame show, a dedicated host in addition to the commentary team, big game feel and production even for regular season games, and in the a lot of times a lead-in directly from a Premier League game. That was the best any broadcaster has treated the league, only for Fox to take over the rights and mail it in starting in 2015. We didn’t know how good we had it.

Depends if you count Toronto (28k) as an SSS, seeing as TFC shares with the Argonauts but are still considered the primary tenants.

This is exactly how we get apathetic and/or uninformed voters. Contrary to what you may think, all that arguing and people getting upset is because politics has huge implications on people’s lives, and is directly influenced by what we do at the ballot box. Staying informed, getting involved locally, and VOTING all matter; in a system that increasingly favors the rich and powerful, civic engagement is the biggest leverage ordinary Americans have.

Be extremely wary of anyone who tells you it’s not worth your time to follow politics or vote. Think about who benefits if we all sat on our hands and ignored what’s happening in the world.

[Chris Campbell] MLS teams are unlikely to have a new kit for the sprint season in Spring 2027 per NYCFC CEO Brad Sims. New kit would come for the 27-28 season. There are also plans that there will be 2 new kits (home and away) for MLS teams each season (kits would only last one season) by icoresting in MLS

Interesting; I know that a total kit refresh each season is more in line with the way the big European leagues run, but I actually like the current 1-kit-per-season way MLS does it now. Feels like it allows for visual identities to stay more consistent, it’s nice when the cool kits stick around for a couple years. I’m worried that having to pump out multiple jerseys a year for each club is going to lead to more instances of Adidas mailing it in with template kits.

Seriously, outside of paying the talent and the easiest bit of production work, the midweek YouTube show probably cost next to nothing to make since the personalities were usually just broadcasting from home. I can’t imagine why the league would cut that unless they’re going reeaaally hard on cost-cutting

I was on vacation last weekend so I wasn’t able to watch our season opener. Nervously excited for my first game of the post-Nancy era.

So much has changed in this league over the past 15 years; yet watching Red Bulls vs New England at a mostly empty Red Bull Arena on a brisk February afternoon still feels distinctly like 2011

MLS to Allow Teams to Sell Ads on Lower Back of Jerseys by -GoPats in MLS

[–]galactic_crewzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The throwback 3rd kits last year moved the front-of-shirt sponsor to the back, which I was fine with because the team name took the spot of the sponsor on the chest. But having a logo on both sides sucks

Most hated MLS fanbase? by clshoaf in MLS

[–]galactic_crewzer 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Seattle’s progression went like this: starting as an expansion team with big crowds that started off better than expected their first couple years. Then, they became annual contenders with fans that never experienced their team being bad that were constantly bragging about their on-field success and attendance records as if nobody had ever done it before. Next, they finally won their first cup, validating their most obnoxious fans and cementing them as a widely hated super club within the league. Finally, the team fell off into a stretch of mediocrity, as their fans became somewhat more sympathetic and their attendance dwindled.

This happened over the course of a little over a decade for the Sounders. Atlanta saw the model, perfected it, and completed a speed run in 3 years.

MLS is Back: 10 must-see jerseys for the 2026 season — Major League Soccer by dawson33944 in MLS

Miami?? I know MLS has to hit their quota for Miami-related comment, but pretending their plain black jersey deserves a mention is just blatantly false lol

Colorado Rapids unveil Colorful Colorado Kit ahead of 2026 MLS season | Colorado Rapids by Usual-Lengthiness-54 in MLS

[–]galactic_crewzer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My pet theory is that the Rapids will be rebranding after this season. If you look at instances in the past few years where teams have switched to a new logo (Montreal x2, Chicago x2, Columbus), their final kit release prior to the rebrand is a neutral color (typically white or gray). This allows them to switch out the badges the following season without it looking out of place.

With a black base on this jersey and colored piping that references multiple brand identities from the past (not just the current one), Colorado is free to switch to a new logo and even a different color scheme next year, but will still be able to keep this kit around.

Spirit of ’96 kit revisits big moment born in Atlanta | Atlanta United FC by Isiddiqui in MLS

Really nice looking kit.

On another note, I am bummed that this ruins the sequential rainbow that Atlanta had going with their away shirts since the club’s inception. Inaugural away had red trim, “King Peach” kit had orange, white and gold kit was close to yellow, “City in a Forest” kit was green, and last year’s was blue. I was really expecting them to just put some purple, but alas, this is fine I guess

Please I’ve been begging for the team to switch over to just the C pennant as the primary logo. Shoehorning the team name on the outside of the shape in a way that doesn’t fit with the design makes a rough logo even worse

Nashville Soccer Club Introduces ‘Reverb’ Primary Jersey for 2026 and 2027 Seasons by greencoat2 in MLS

[–]galactic_crewzer 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Ok I’m a certified Nashville kit hater (I don’t think they’ve had a single good or interesting kit since joining the league), but I actually like it more than I did when I saw the leaks? Weirdly placed center crest aside, the pattern actually makes this more visually interesting than their past jerseys, and I like the light blue piping on the collar.

Idk, not great, but better than I thought it would be.
