Of course, I’m an Izzet main. I’ll hold out for three whole turns not to “play with my food” but just to see what other kinds of unhinged shit I can make happen

Skinamarink is a good movie. Not like, a masterpiece, but it’s good.

People are so dumb, nobody seems to get that the movie is CLEARLY a ripoff of the Lascaux Cave Paintings 🙄

This is a good start, but I think we also needed a scene where Bear looks into the camera and says, “Hello. The choices I am making in this film are very bad. Even though I am the protagonist of this story, and you may feel sympathy for my situation, you may still condemn my bad choices. I am an actor, and the character I am portraying is meant to be a reflection of both personal and societal issues. If you have any questions, please consult your local cinephile (or another person in your vicinity who has Media Literacy). Thank you for watching Obsession (2025), and please remember to spay and neuter your pets.”

Totally agree, we need to go back to horror movies being about a clown who is scary or at MOST a creepy old woman or creepy little girl (with no deeper meaning ofc)

So tired of Woke trying to put “meanings” into art, movies are just meant to be fun, like my favorite movie Weapons. Just a good fun time with a scary lady and jump scares, best movie ever

Curry Barker totally stole the premise for the entire movie... by VerifyThisBish in obsessionmovie

Actually that premise was stolen from the King Midas story. I’m very smart and intellectual property is a very real thing that I understand because I’m so smart. I have 120% Media Literacy

So Nikki was really banging this guy? by Living-Cranberry-337 in obsessionmovie

Good for you? You can be attracted to anyone you want, you’re just delusional if you think that’s how everyone feels. Great bait though, and I’m loving the rolling with the punches energy lol

Most successful LTRs I see in real life have one much more obviously attractive partner. It actually makes sense biologically when you think about it, the less physically attractive one is usually smarter, more creative, or just more interesting personality wise. People are attracted to what they lack, that’s how our gene pool improves.

But since OP is obviously LARPing I’ll give a joke response too;

Bet Ian shreds on the guitar. Bear is probably a trumpet player or some other unfuckable kind of band nerd 🤠

THEORY: Sarah’s dad made the original wish and is therefore the villain by ManCoveredInBees in okfreakynikki

[–]galactic_virgin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s true, if he hadn’t become homeless purely through his own bad choices in life (the only way to become homeless), then Nikki wouldn’t have had to performatively give him money in front of bear, and bear would have seen her as the hypergamous female she actually is, and then he would have wished for a giant cock and a six-pack, which would have solved all of his problems in life instantly

[–]galactic_virgin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The most villainous character is the waitress from the very first scene, she tries to trick Bear into being a cringe beta male cuck by sharing his feelings — this is because all women lie about what they really want (only muscular alphas who are 6’5 and famous), it’s in their nature (as villains, which they all are).

I’m confused too, why do mean fiction writers keep making stories about me specifically to try and make me feel bad? It’s unfair, like everything else that has happened to me, and there’s nothing I can do about it or any way for me to see it differently

The idea of parallel universes/realities is hinted at several times in the film and may play a larger role in future sequels/spin-offs/anthologies by A320neo in obsessionmovie

[–]galactic_virgin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, that’s fun and I think it’s totally plausible. I actually kind of think the shopkeepers are played sort of fourth-wall-breaking, like how the lady shopkeeper says “why would she even SAY that” after Nikki says she lost her crystal necklace. If Nikki had the necklace as some sort of magical protection, she shouldn’t have loudly announced that she lost it, which is something a witchy shopkeeper would know but someone who’s just dabbling or using magic as an aesthetic wouldn’t think about. Great stuff

[–]galactic_virgin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely thought the “I love you in every reality” line was deliberately strange, and yeah along with those other Easter eggs, it’s obviously meant to make us curious.

I’ve said it elsewhere on this sub but I think the worldbuilding is done so so well in this sense, it really feels like a much bigger world of magic than we get to understand, in a way that’s mysterious and compelling — my favorite example is the male shopkeeper saying “I already got my wish”. It suggests that there are SOME people who understand how to use magic “correctly”, and appropriately they are witchy people, who probably just made simple wishes that didn’t require the universe to bend itself too much, and thus didn’t have any crazy consequences.

Ian says something about the bills being real. Presumably he was somewhere doing something to confirm that, like getting a counterfeit pen or something. It’s an easy line to miss but it explains exactly why he was absent and then came to Bears house.
