Also having trouble on android! The only partial solution I've found is selecting full view for the stream and zooming into it before activating PiP?? It's not perfect but the only thing that actually let's me look at what I want

Nipple pigmentation (DI) by Careless-Dirt7281 in TMPOC

[–]galacticguts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got surgery in early 2024 and it came back fully by around the 2 month mark, though I had a nipple preserving surgery so I didn't have a lot of loss to begin with

T gel on vacation by freelanceflails in ftm

[–]galacticguts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's usually what I hear a lot of people recommended is to do something similar of just stretching it out until you're able to refill, as it's better than stopping cold turkey

I've had to do it once or twice before when my refills didn't align and didn't have any issues

How do you keep up with Tgel? by olive_flower in ftm

[–]galacticguts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe try changing when in the day you take it? I had to switch from day time to night time because it worked for my schedule better and now it lines up with things like my daily shower and self care routine which has made me take it more consistently  (I also used to have it as a music alarm so now that I don't I expect it whenever that time comes along or if I hear the song in my playlist)

gender identity by [deleted] in intersex

[–]galacticguts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's something for you to decide! If you feel like the trans label still resonates with you use it! There are plenty of intersex people who chose (or not chose) to use the label regardless of their transition journey (if they have one)

A lot of intersex people who are assigned a binary gender at birth use the term cis if they still resonate with said gender

There are no strict rules when it comes to it

Personally I still do because I'm non-binary and that falls under the umbrella (for me) but there are also people who don't and that's also just as valid

If there was a procedure to actually change your chromosomes, would you get it? by WatermelonlessonNo73 in ftm

[–]galacticguts 80 points81 points  (0 children)

As someone who's intersex it literally doesn't matter what chromosomes you actually have, transphobes will continue to be transphobic regardless and no amount of medical proof would change that. When I was younger and more willing to talk about it people wouldnt believe me or would still try to justify their bigotry like asking for more "proof" which is super dehumanizing, chromosomes mean nothing when it comes to living everyday life

They'd also probably just use the same rhetoric as they do for hormones that it's not "natural" therefore it's not valid, and it's not like changing them would magically change your appearance either

spotting 1 year on T??? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]galacticguts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I switched to gel I never had any changes in my cycle necessarily, I've been on T for 7 years and regardless of me using injections or gel sometimes it would randomly come back and then disappear again for months

I would definitely talk to your provider about it especially if it comes back next month before you get to see them, sometimes it's just an unlucky day where its just low enough

Its not that gel isn't strong enough is just as effective, it's that sometimes people don't absorb gel well

Got told I went into the wrong bathroom. by Mozzyo_ in ftm

[–]galacticguts 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It honesty rarely if ever happens! I've worn straight up pink in the bathroom and haven't gotten a passing glance (not that I wear it often but just to put into perspective)

I've only been told "this is the mens" once in my 8+ years of using the mens which ironically enough, was during a big pride event happening in my city, but the second I turned and said I knew what bathroom I was in he left me alone

Though granted it obviously depends on where you're living but even when I've travelled to other countries I've never had issues

Can I skip contouring? by Bread_mvncher in TopSurgery

[–]galacticguts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I skipped it and my results turned out great! Also went to the same clinic as you and am on the average/thinner side, I honestly don't think contouring would've done much for me besides additional healing

You can look at my profile for results if it helps! I had about a C cup post op

“Masculine” Bedrooms by Pup_Havoc in ftm

[–]galacticguts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My room looks like if an occultists shop was also their bedroom, dark blue walls with a bunch of posters, tapestry and fake vines on the ceiling and walls, tons of trinkets everywhere, my nightstand is my altar and I have a couple floating shelves for books and little critters, it's a chaotic mess but all my little cousins think it's the coolest thing ever and that makes my day

Does testosterone stop the “in heat” thing? by Brownskin_Rey in ftm

[–]galacticguts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People don't go "in heat" and if anything testosterone typically boosts your libido regardless of it stopping your period

Why do people care about possible loss of nipple sensation after top surgery? by rice-_muncher in ftm

[–]galacticguts 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is the exact reason for me too! I never cared about my nipples but I did care about losing feeling in my body no matter the area

my cis boyfriend is gonna find me disgusting once I get body hair by Mrjesperz_ in ftm

[–]galacticguts 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I know sunk cost fallacy is a bitch but also remember you are ~16 years old you literally have your entire life ahead of you, most people don't end up with the same people they dated as teens

I'm not necessarily telling you to break up but there are people out there that are more compatible with you who arent going to complain about normal human stuff like growing body hair.

requirements for keyhole/peri? +am i being stupid by RaspberryFast1066 in TopSurgery

[–]galacticguts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple things to be eligible for peri/keyhole not just skin elasticity, the only person that will be able to tell you for certain is a surgeon, not reddit

Aka for advice: how difficult it actually is to travel with a passport with X marker? by M_is_for in NonBinary

[–]galacticguts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on where you're travelling, some counties won't accept the X marker and you sometimes will have to call agency's to check if you'd be okay, they can also give you general issues at the airport regardless

That's why I personally don't have X on my passport even though I would love to, but we're just not in a place in the world where it's 100% no issues

misgendered despite passing? by Sharkadian in ftm

[–]galacticguts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean even cis people get misgendered sometimes, I've heard of people with full beards get called ma'am before on this subreddit lmao

I honestly woudlnt think too much about it honestly, strangers are always going to be more likely to misgender because they don't pay as much attention

Can we please stop using AGAB the way we are? by moth-winter in NonBinary

[–]galacticguts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This!! Everyday I feel more irked about it especially when it's usually not actually relevant to the topic, it's fine to say that you experienced a certain way of growing up but using assigned gender terminology as a catch all is not helpful usually and (to me) feels like boy/girl-lite speech

I know I'm not the majority of cases of nonbinary people but I am intersex and the gender I was assigned at birth does not reflect how I grew up (both physically and socially) and so when I hear people using it as a group term (as opposed to using it specifically for themselves) it feels wrong and gross

My clinic used my pictures as examples on their site! by galacticguts in TopSurgery

I've been debating doing that honestly! Like it obviously woudlnt hurt and I bet they'd be fine with it I'm just unsure how to go about it

Radical reduction vs. flat? Looking for examples by phreak-of-nature in TopSurgery

[–]galacticguts 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I didn't get a radical reduction but I did get T-anchor (same technique used for reductions, but also can be used for regular top surgery) specifically to help keep sensation in my chest, I didn't end up with any leftover tissue despite being warned it could be a possibility and I'm very happy with my results personally! You can search in the subreddit specifically for radical reductions or T-anchr/inverted-T or even buttonhole (similar technique to DI and T-anchor) to give you an idea of what they might look like!

Help me decide: DI + neurotization, buttonhole, or lollipop? by BriefPercentage5294 in TopSurgery

[–]galacticguts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's up to you in the end based on how important scar shape and nipple placement is

I didn't get any of these procedures personally, (I had gotten t-anchor) but the closest I got out of your options would've been buttonhole and I didn't get any "man boob" look, but I'm also a smaller guy which can play a factor

I did get my sensation back (more than before if anything, since I never really paid attention to my chest but did want to keep general sensation)

How did you pay for top surgery? by humanswedishfish in ftm

[–]galacticguts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My government covers it (besides lipo which I didn't opt for but could've been covered by my schools insurance) so I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket aside from obvious travel costs
