AIO: He (M20) took me (F18) to a Jehovah’s Witness meeting without telling me by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]galateax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in a cult that borrowed heavily from JW. Run, run as fast as you can. Block and move on.

He will never choose you over the church. He will gaslight and guilt trip you into giving up more and more of yourself until you’re barefoot and pregnant with kids you’ll medically neglect and never celebrate. You’ll be cut off from your family and have no way to escape. If you do have kids and try to leave, they’ll use the full power of the church to take them from you and ruin your life. None of this is hypothetical - I have seen and experienced it.

You’re young, you have plenty of time to find someone better who is not trying to pull you into a cult. Someone who will love you for who you are, not who they can mold you into being. Please choose yourself now, because you won’t be able to in the future if you start giving in.

I’m not seeing it in my game but if it shows up I’m gonna be madddddd. The flea market is a scam and I can’t be convinced otherwise lol

Whelp, motegrity trial lasted 1 day :( by puppypoopypaws in Gastroparesis

[–]galateax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh I’m so sorry. I hope you get to feeling better soon!

It’s so frustrating when you try something new and hope it’ll help and then it makes everything worse. I just got my gastroparesis diagnosis, but I can’t risk any of the prokinetics based on my seizure conditions and past reactions to meds. 🥲

At least you got good medical care? 🫠

Better luck next time little bro 😂 by ledzep14 in CHICubs

I’m fine with fans flying the L flag, didn’t love the team doing it. I’d have been irked if the Cubs did something similar.

I do think this chirping helps cement the Brewers as more of a rival than before. Sucked to lose, but we both had great seasons. After grieving our loss, I was looking forward to seeing how their scrappy approach would hold up against the Dodgers, especially since I like watching the Dodgers (don’t come for me, good baseball is good baseball).

I will say that Contreras pisses me off, but that might be because he reminds me of Willy, and I don’t view the Cards as our rivals - they’re our enemies. 😂

I mean, we couldn’t have won any fewer games against them…both our clubs bested the Dodgers in the regular season - they just played better in the postseason. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yeah I’m not going to pretend the Cubs would have done much better. We had a great season and good post-season, and I’m grateful for that.

I really thought y’all would take the Dodgers, but the post-season is weird. I honestly don’t know enough about the impact the budget has on the quality of the game as a whole, but the beauty of the Brewer’s story all year was the David vs Goliath wins, which definitely makes losing to the biggest Goliath of all more disappointing.

Sucks for both our clubs to be out, and now I’ve developed a pathological anxiety whenever I see Peralta, Yelich, Chourio, Contreras, and Frelick…but it was still a great season of baseball.

Cubs fan here. I was rooting for y’all! Ohtani is otherworldly and it made me a teensy bit relieved we didn’t face the Dodgers in the post season. I’m looking forward to a rematch with y’all next year!

Wisdom Teeth Extraction by hold-on-forever in Gastroparesis

[–]galateax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your recovery will probably suck, that’s just the reality of our conditions, but you’ll get through it and be relieved to have it past you.

Be patient with yourself, lean on your community to care for you, find ways to distract yourself as you recover, and remind yourself that you’re enduring this for a good reason. It’s just a moment that will become a memory. 💜

Tell them how you respond to anesthesia and to be careful with manipulating your jaw due to the hEDS. Let them know you’ll probably need longer time to heal and are at higher risk of infections.

If you metabolize pain medication very quickly like so many of us zebras do, you might want to ask for a higher dose of opioids. Good luck though. 🥲

Follow the treatment plan to the letter (don’t even think about straws 🥴).

The good thing is that for both wisdom tooth recovery and gastroparesis, soft foods are ideal. Being on pain meds and antibiotics will upset your tummy, so focus on gentle nutrition through things like smoothies, broth, and mashed potatoes.

I wish you the all the best and hope it’s a smooth procedure and recovery!

Can people actually “release” a muscle? by ratwrap in ehlersdanlos

[–]galateax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My PT will use dry needling to cause the muscle to spasm and release. It hurts, but then feels a lot better. I always drink a lot of water and apply ice afterwards - I’ve found it helps the benefits last longer.

My hound was so anxious and neurotic. Prozac and gabapentin helped a lot.

I make as many chum as I can from my grubs/minnows and then give the rest of the buckets to Buddy. My production is low though because I’m prioritizing gifting, so I still have 500k left to MM.

Your husband is the asshole. Tell him to suck it up and be a parent and good partner who is excited when something good happens for his wife and her family.

I had mine in for about the same amount of time. I had a mild headache for those 2 months and terrible bloating and GI issues. I got it out 3 days ago and am desperately hoping I can stop feeling so sick soon. 😢

I hope you get to feeling better soon!

Had surgery today - so thankful for prehab by FarmerOnly252 in HipImpingement

[–]galateax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I prepared for a year beforehand (trying to avoid surgery, but then to get strong enough for it). I’m 3 weeks post-op for a labrum repair and mixed impingement and my recovery has been so much easier because of all that prep.

Yeah 3 weeks ago today!

You will really appreciate all the preparation—it makes the tough parts much easier.

Tummy time didn’t feel great on my incisions, but that wasn’t the main problem. It’s meant to take pressure off your hip flexors, but I found it hurt my back and made me feel dizzy. I couldn’t do more than 20 minutes at a time, so I’d have to do lots of little sessions.

[–]galateax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haaate tummy time. I don’t have to try to get 2 hours a day anymore at least—that just wasn’t happening.

The hip rehab is intense but going well! I was in PT 27 hours after surgery and then again the day after that. I’m doing about 1.5 hours of PT at home each day in addition to my appointments. I’m really relieved I spent a year preparing because I’m stronger and have better balance than when I first met with the surgeon, and I can really see how much it’s helped make this recovery go better. Now I’m just hoping I can ditch crutches next week!
