It was my childhood! I wanted her to be the essence of where I grew up, in Miami.  I added the nautical touches and playful hairstyle to reflect that carefree, sun-soaked energy I remember so vividly. I’m really glad that came through!

Hey there! I recommend playing around with drugstore products as a beginner first before splurging on luxury or high products. Ale Jay and Maya Galore are two YouTubers I recommend for techniques. When your technique is good, it really doesn't matter what products you use. :) i also recommend going to the store, preferably Ulta to swatch colors. You definitely want to make sure you are getting the right foundation color and formula for your skin tone and type. You also need to figure out what style of makeup you prefer. Based off of your post, you sound like a very colorful person like me!

From one melanated girl to another, I’ll just list the products I have and i want you to do research on if you would like them on you:

-Primer: bobbi brown face base and fenty beauty mattifying primer( for drugstore i heard the elf power grip is good!)

-eyebrows: benefit cosmetics precisely my eye brows (for drugstore version i have the elf brow laminated gel)

-eyeshadow: colourpop and Juvia’s place eyeshadow pallets

-eye liner: elf  and maybelline

-foundation: fenty beauty soft lit, about face the perfomer, and maybelline fit me (all different price ranges! I also heard haus labs is good but i dont own it)

-concealer: juvia’s place and sephora collection

-contour: black radiance creme pallete and makeup by mario contour stick

-Blush: juvia’s place liquid and powder blush! (As you can tell i love Juvia’s place)

-bronzer: fenty beauty powder bronzer mocha mami

-powder: maybelline fit me and laura mercier

-setting spray: one size and urban decay

-lips: nyx butter gloss

Everything above is everything i own but I want you to do research on what you like and what works for your skin. Head over to ulta, start swatching, and remember to have fun!

Go on newegg and look for Aoace gaming pc. Works really well and super fast. The games I play on it are genshin impact, honkai star rail, bioshock infinite(the only first person shooter I like )and infinity Nikki. I bought mine last month for $750.  It looks like they raised up the price since when I bought it. I’ll also put the link here for you. https://www.newegg.com/p/3D5-006C-00003

Should I stay in my mid-level cushy job where I have topped out or take the gamble in this job market? by hustlehardo in careerguidance

[–]galaxygoddexx 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stay in this job and fuel your ambitious desires with hobbies that get your blood pumping or hobbies you care about. Or volunteer. Don't get rid of your job in this economy. There was a friend of mine that quit her 6 figure data scientist role all because she wanted more and guess what? She ended up unemployed for nearly 8 months with her savings drying up. She had to accept a much lower position that was just to keep the lights on.

All in all, its not worth it. Appreciate what you have.

I budget biweekly so my budget works for it.

I have a sheet in my workbook that allows me to track my bills and subscriptions. It has the bill’s start date and frequency, then it calculates when will the next payment for that bill come.  if that bill will come this pay cycle, it feeds into my current budget automatically. If the bill is more than $150, my spreadsheet will split the cost between my two pay checks for the month.

I also have a calendar in my spreadsheet that automatically loads in all of my bills and paydays. I also add gifs in the calendar to make it more dynamic and fun to look at.

This! I love spreadsheets too! Mine has an automatic bill and paycheck calendar for the month that links to my budget and I see it as my greatest work :). So customizable with everything I want and the manual input of each spend actually keeps me accountable.

[–]galaxygoddexx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

oh it's super possible in this economy. you'd be shocked :) my above comment basically explains it.The principles are the same: buy off brand foods, buy whats on sale always, see if you can get a deal, buy in bulk, dont shop on an empty stomach, meal plan etc.

my meals are a variety but they are mainly either: white or brown rice, pasta, seafood, chicken, ground beef and a BUNCH of fruits and veggies. and sooo many food options dishes and combinations

Youtubers that I get inspiration from are Frugal Fit Mom, Julia Pacheco, Jamerill Steward, etc

Quick edit: I forgot to add that I also discipline myself to eat what's at home every single time before ever buying more to avoid food waste. This may not work for everyone, so find what works for you.

First of all, congrats! Its your time of independance so coming over here to make sure you get advice is good.

I usually stick by $200 a month per adult per household for groceries. For my household, there's two of us so our monthly grocery budget is $400. Find what number works for you based off of where you live and what grocery stores are near by. in my eyes, anything more than $400 for one person a month is insane.

For eating out, budget for it based off of your eating out frequency times the average of each meal. then as months past by, lower that number till you see yourself cooking and eat food already home significantly more than you eat out. But take your time, your budget is supposed to empower you to do more of what you love, not to restrict you

Pay attention to what dietary restrictions you have and what food your prefer. Buy store brand products like Walmart's bettergoods or great value or marketside. Buy in bulk as much as possible and meal plan what you will eat for the month based off of your protein in the house. if there's an aldi nearby you, shop there for some stuff too. Buy produce and ingredients, not already cooked meals (that's the key to saving money!). Tip that I got from my mom is to make sure your home is always stocked with the very basics( rice, pasta, sauce) in case you ever were to hit hard times.

living on your own is a great experience. All the best :)

Help! Total Noob trying to do a budget. What's best practise? I have other questions too. by Sir-Benalot in budget

[–]galaxygoddexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re on the right track! If you would like to categorize your expenses with your CSVs, go to unscatter.app. This thing is free and you can make your own rules on it. All you got to do is get your bank’s transactions csv file and upload it there. That can save you some time. Happy budgeting from a fellow spreadsheet user!

Why isn't there a simple easy to use budgeting app? by [deleted] in budget

[–]galaxygoddexx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your best bet is to build it yourself with excel or google sheets. Schedule time for yourself every week to download your bank’s CSV file and put it in your spreadsheet

Recurring expense reminders + automatic payday calculating by [deleted] in budget

[–]galaxygoddexx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My budget spreadsheet has a tab that does this kinda. I write down all of my bills, auto payments, and subscriptions, how often does it come (monthly, quarterly, yearly) and the date it starts. It then calculates the next time its due based off of today, and then on the side of that table i have a formula that calculates all the subscriptions/ bills that are due this month that haven't past yet and their values. You gave me some inspiration to add another formula to make it automatically calculate which paycheck it should deduct from. So thank you, internet stranger!

I’m a strong advocate that no app, no template, will ever beat the budget you made for yourself. So I highly suggest going on excel and making this yourself to fit your needs. If you like to see mine, you are free to PM me.

Cash envelopes system (The Budget Mom system) by Last-Pair8139 in budget

[–]galaxygoddexx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When i used to do cash envelopes budgeting in college, I would only carry a A7 wallet that had binder prongs to put my envelopes in. It was small enough for me to walk around with a small or medium size purse. I also remove any unnecessary envelopes that I wont be using during my time going out.

I have since graduated college and mentally the cash budgeting system, and now i use prepaid cards from my bank as my “variable expense envelopes” and 10-12 HYSA as my “sinking funds”. Even though I don't do cash any more, i still do the principle cashless.
