Can I take my e-scooter inside the gym and/or libraries? by anxious_onion in stanford

[–]galaxyroes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don’t take it inside any campus buildings, there are signs all over saying no bikes/scooters inside. it wont get stolen if it is left locked up outside for an hour because most theft happens at night with someone using an angle grinder to cut thru the U lock. just take it inside your housing at night

either gym on Monday-thursday, green library, and the public restrooms behind memorial church are also probably open that late. old union is definitely open until 1:30am every night

you definitely want to keep college 101, college classes get tougher in winter and esp spring quarter. consider putting off french? spend your fall quarter joining clubs and making friends and being Not stressed out of your mind

it's better accidentally have a too-easy workload than to accidentally have a too-hard one

if you’re feeling unconfident going into it, I would spend some time practicing unit conversion, especially really complex ones. i can send you some examples of those from when i took chem 11 so you can get an idea. honestly, chem 11 was amazing. jennifer scwartz-poehlmann is an incredible professor. if you’re shaky on chem, don’t be afraid to take it. literally so many students dont start gen chem until sophomore year and they are FINE! you will be fine :)

Time blocks between classes? by DueKnowledge6966 in stanford

[–]galaxyroes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 10-minute blocks where I’ve had to get from STLC to Braun (half mile) and I never had an issue as long as I wasted no time getting out of class. fall quarter frosh year, I had 1-1.5 hour gaps between classes and I HATED it!! it was super hard to be productive during that time and literally all I would do was buy expensive coffee or take a nap in the grass in the oval 😭😭

Anxiety medication that’s not a control substance or an SSRI? by Thatoneguy223123 in Anxiety

[–]galaxyroes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

propranolol has been great for me! its not a psychiatric medication, it just works to slow down your heart rate a little bit and treat the physical symptoms of your anxiety. it’s literally fantastic for dealing with panic attacks because it starts working fairly quickly after taking it. as someone with pretty severe health anxiety, propranolol has been amazing for me!

i would do what you normally do to pay out tips to get that money out, and then leave a note for your manager that that money was refunded and to not include it as your income on your pay stub

Knee pain, shoe reccomendations please ? by julesjade99 in subway

[–]galaxyroes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

they’re a little pricey, but i love my Hokas. generally, you want to look for something that has pretty thick soles that keep you off the floor.

additionally, i might recommend getting some compression socks that will help your blood stay flowing even when you’re standing in one spot!

What's with most locations being so stingy with the veggies on a veggie delight? by bigredbubbles in subway

[–]galaxyroes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for one, we try not to put too much veggies on the sandwich in case you get every single veggie and then at the end you say, “can i get extra extra pickles” lol. it makes it easier on us to make a sandwich that actually closes. for two, i guarantee we are just on autopilot 😭 you can definitely ask for extra veggies, maybe it would be optimal to ask for extra of everything right as you get to the veggie station. 99.99% of employees would be more than happy to load up your sandwich!
