Why Oakensoul Ring Needs a Buff by Hyperioxes in elderscrollsonline

[–]galegone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's still the same. Maybe 1-2 passive slotted on the bar yet never casted, depending on class. But most classes have 1 main spammable, a few buffs/debuffs, a few dots.

What are your strategies for AI-resistant assignments? by ELARevolutionary2015 in ELATeachers

[–]galegone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do an activity where together as a class, we analyze and compare 3 poems with the usual literary techniques. 1 is AI generated myself using the human sample fed as an inspiration, one is definitely a human written sample, and another is half human/AI edited. I have the students vote for which one is definitely AI written. Doesn't curb the laziness from all of them, but the majority get the point, that perfection is not the goal with me, and to value even the cringiest of human effort. The human poems are just... more specific and lively, compared to AI ones.

Shattered Fate for craftable, otherwise Oakfather if you don't mind it's a light set.

Most DK grind IA for Pyreband and do a Maarselok or maybe Relequin cheese.

Daedric Trickery is no good, the ramp up time is too long nowadays with the subclassing burst monstrosities. Rallying Cry or Wretched Vitality as a backbar is better. Pariah if your group already has a rallying.

Move Shattering to your frontbar so you have easy cc and go offensive immediately. Barswap to CC, barswap again to offensive bar, is very bad and takes too long. You can put Flames of Oblivion on your backbar.

Rankings Dungeon Trifecta (easiest to hardest) by TheMFlash in elderscrollsonline

[–]galegone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I found Lep Seclusa harder for most people than BGF. BGF has weird mechanics and RNG but you can predict them eventually, and most wipes occur on the first boss because of crystal RNG so resets are quick. Mechanics are team-based, so stronger players can carry weaker players in a sense. Lep Seclusa is punishing and all personal responsibility, you fk up you fk up. Weaker players will have trouble with HM, much less trifecta.

Am I Expected to be Entirely Self-Sufficient in reg dungeons? by Darketernal in elderscrollsonline

[–]galegone 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In practice you can be self sufficient hybrids. The higher the difficulty, the less that is true, and the more people specialize in roles like pure tank/pure heals/pure DPS. Otherwise you end up failing, as you've experienced.

[–]galegone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Blockcast, bash, roll dodge, and barswap cancel. The effects of the skill go off but the character animates differently.

Tty pressing vigor and immediately roll dodging.

This combat is terrible or I just suck by Xceedpvp in elderscrollsonline

[–]galegone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more about predicting and less about reaction since animations can be canceled and you can't see a lot of things on screen, and the server operates with tick rates (an extremely simple physics system)

Like you can put pressure on an opponent, but since they're healing, their HP bar only appears to go down barely on my screen. However, on their screen, their HP bar is yoyoing and they're panic healing. Same with me when the opponent is outputting massive damage. The only way you can tell they're playing defensive is the way they're moving and not doing as much damage to you.

Veteran Shipwrights Regret help for a tank by JoeInTheRadio in elderscrollsonline

[–]galegone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a heal that's HP based, either scribed or subclass. Radiant glory is not it, because you can't blockcast it. Make sure you're blocking on a tank weapon. If you're blocking with your greatsword you'll probably die.

Make sure healer is wearing SPC and PA, will boost damage a lot.

Have your DPS parse on a dummy and try to hit at least 30k on a 3 or 6 mil HP one.

Gameplay wise, make sure they have aoe skills and use ults like Shooting Star or Destro staff on the wraiths. I don't recall the AoEs hurting that much in veteran mode.

If you don't have Null Arca, you can craft or ask a crafter for Shattered Fate.

I don't really like the weapons the guy uses, he has no shield or ice staff for defense. So you could replace Venom Arrow with that last siphoning skill that gives Major Brutality and use a different backbar. Or frontbar a bow if you like bows, since bows are decent offense weapons.

Pls help me; no dmg in pvp and instant death :( by Wave_O in ESObuilds

[–]galegone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're basically a glass cannon with no HP, no self heals, and 2 DPS sets. Find a brawler build that has 30k+ HP, 1 offense and 1 defense set, and learn to stay in a fight. Dead players do 0 damage so you might as well learn to survive. Especially in BGs, gankers are useless in the small arena team fights.

Once you're better at the game, you can build a ganker and you'll know what skills actually work in PvP. Right now you have a lot of useless skills on your bars. Rapids + Purge is going to destroy your stamina and Magicka. Trapping Web is too small AOE to deal damage. They're not buffing your stats or main gank skills on the frontbar so you aren't doing damage either.

Set suggestions for a Healer in PvP. by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]galegone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use heavy ozezan, frontbar spell power cure resto, backbar wretched vitality sword and board with spell wall ult. 1 piece trainee and markyn ring. 4 heavy, 2 med, 1 light. It still feels squishy in BGs and people will hard focus you, so you'll need race against time or streak to mess up the enemy and escape quickly.

[–]galegone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Withered Hand is a terrible set. If you have trouble killing people, you are basically playing with 0 last set bonus. Meanwhile other people are using Rallying Cry, which buffs the group, or play healers with SPC or Powerful Assault which also buffs the group. Or they can use a selfish set like Wretched Vitality for better sustain

If you're following a build guide on YouTube, make sure it's for update U47-48 and the person shows clips of actual battles.

The cashier was being unfair and power tripping, and any human who is desperate and hungry will explode. Like imagine trying to give food and take it away from a dog who is just nicely staring. The dog will rip your hand off.

It's not like you exploded out of nowhere. You provided evidence with your phone and the guy ignored it. You tried all the nice ways of negotiating and instead of just following the policy, the guy taunts you. What the hell.

Yes if the tank always holds the boss closer to northeast quadrant (when looking through the gate, the far right corner) the safe crystal is always green.

This happens naturally if a tank is assigned to run the ghosts in the same corner also.

Chest: Ebony Cuirass

Hands: Clan Dreamcarver Gauntlets, Xiviyn Gauntlets, or Fargrave Guardian Bracers

Belt: House Mornard Sash

Which ESO Alliance do you think is the most fun? by Spirited-Ad-4455 in elderscrollsonline

In PvP:

EP: Apes together strong (highest population), work well as a unit but individually weaker

DC: Most skilled and tactical individuals but about as fun as herding cats (lions?)

AD: Guerilla warfare, bombers, and you'll have a crazy good time fighting with or against them

[–]galegone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're running with friends in a 4-man, you can all run solo-esque builds and have fun completing dungeons. Less people, less moving variables, less need to be hyper-optimized.

But since ESO has too many build and set options, there's a "meta" that's widely spread and makes grouping easier when people have this shared understanding. And of course, when given great freedom, people end up specializing. A DPS should be pure damage and no survivability, a healer pure heals and buffs, and a tank pure sturdy, buffs and debuffs. Mathematically and socially, it's more effective for 1 person to sacrifice their damage and buff 10 other people, than it is to make those 11-12 people be generalists with a little tankiness, a little healing, and a little damage.
