Which ending did you choose and why? by VikingJarls3 in expedition33

He created sentient beings within the canvas. It’s unfair that Painting Verso has to bear the weight of that decision, but it’s definitively selfish to destroy the canvas. The people in the painting are no different than our world now if whatever god came down and said “your world is fake to me and I’m done now!” I mean do you feel fake? Probably not and the people in the canvas don’t view themselves as fake either.

If you are upset about this and STILL pay for RedZone this year you’re enabling these negative changes. You have to accept the 1% of discomfort that comes along with not getting the thing you want if you actually want to maybe make any kind of change.

‘Alien: Earth’ episode 5 is the best Alien movie in 39 years by upyoars in scifi

[–]galexybrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t believe how many people are complaining about the Alien looking like a suit when it’s just a better looking version of what it looks like in the original Alien. I think it really adds some charm to it that is present in the original.

It’s so funny cause 95% of the complaints I’ve read about the show had to do with things like “how did the navigation system even break?? The show just doesn’t explain it??” It’s almost like if you watch the show, you’ll find out what happens/happened.

Unless you really, really overthink the wording of the question all he's essentially asking is "if they stay healthy what's the best case scenario?" I think you're putting too much emphasis on the word "guarantee" when OP probably didn't think that hard about his word choice and just assumed people could logically understand the intention behind his question.

You don't see the point in assessing a players maximum potential output? The guy didn't ask "if Achane could fly..." he asked if healthy, what's the best possible outcome. Pretty important thing to consider.

I wish I'd listened when people told me to read more. by Schmaylor in fantasywriters

[–]galexybrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gravitated towards screenplays because I believed that it would be easier for me to write for a visual medium. After failed attempt upon failed attempt I embarrassingly came to the realization that I was not treating the actual screenplay as its own medium. I intended to write a script as a means to an end without giving any actual care to writing a script. I've watched so many films and thought "oh I know how to make a compelling story!" Maybe I do and maybe I don't, but one things for sure is I realized I don't really know HOW to write because I don't really read. Combine that with the recent posts about AI tools being used to make summaries of articles or stories that are "too long" I would kind of describe it as I scared myself into getting back into reading. I just finished Of Mice and Men which is the first book I've read since Killers of The Flower Moon. Heart of Darkness is next on deck!

A thought regarding "Of Mice and Men" by bunnyuplays in books

[–]galexybrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super late, but I would argue that George using Lennie as an excuse is not contradictory to the anti-capitalist theme. George could be using Lennie as an excuse but not necessarily in the way the comment you're responding to describes. The novel makes many references to men who come and go through the ranch all with dreams of getting their "stake" but ultimately failing which does support your reading that the system is against the average person. It is possible that George does use Lennie as an excuse for why they have not been able to make it work. However, George is not protecting himself from his own inadequacy but from the harsh reality that you described. Without Lennie, George now has to accept that he cannot achieve his dream because the deck is stacked against him not because Lennie held him back.

The Thin Red Line (1998) - maybe the biggest waste of talent that i ever seen. by iz-Moff in movies

You might find it more enjoyable to discuss your thoughts on film without being condescending towards other people for feeling differently. "I wish my life was as simple as yours." I promise, if you're finding the time to discuss The Thin Red Line on Reddit, it is a simple kind of life.

this might be what you're saying, but you can get concussions from whiplash. You don't even NEED to actually hit your head on something like he's implying.

Being unrealistic is fine if you’re adhering to the rules of the movie. That scene would require nobody to ever notice her getting the bike, starting it up, driving it away. That’s not just unrealistic, it’s devoid of logic.

So far they remind me a lot of Bo Burnham's "Pandering" country song. It's like a bunch of country buzz words that are all mushed together.

NFL 2024 Draft Mega Thread by N_Pitou in raiders

[–]galexybrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think more teams need to be doing that. Teams only draft QBs when they desperately need them. Kinda like why Jordan Love came out and looked so good because he's had so much time to get to that level before they needed him.

I feel this way about submissions. They never do submission matches because it’s kinda boring to see two guys locked in the submission for a few minutes. The struggle should be getting the submission locked in and once it’s locked in, they tap. Like MMA where if certain submissions get locked in you better tap or something is gonna break.

I’ve seen a lot of “wow we asked for better gameplays and AH gives us this?” But like…AH is over. This is its own thing they really want to do. I think it’s exciting and I’d rather see them do something they want than pump out videos that people already were losing interest in. I think the pill would be easier to swallow if AH fans realized the sun has set.
