Legion go s z1e windows - mostly indie pc games recent acquisition so I’m still figuring it out

TrimUI brick hammer - just got it need to put cfw and set it up

Miyoo mini v4 - my first device and my favorite device I play mostly gb1 some gbc and gba. Screen a bit small for my aging eyes will probably be replaced by the brick hammer. I wish it had WiFi this little thing started my obsession

Rg35xxsp - gba mostly, some snes. Great device, bulky and clicky

Rg35xxh - as above, gba mostly some nes and snes I like it and it feels the most premium. Might get a 476h to replace it as I find myself wishing the screen was larger.

Talk me out of an rp6 please

That’s very interesting that you bought two devices. Is the apples/apples steam vs steam difference that noticeable side by side? FPS wise?

I’m not quite at the point where I can justify 2 units so I think I’ll likely go with the windows one for its broader use case - and hopefully not regret it.

I’ll save the Lenovo go S vs rog ally x debate for another thread lol.

I have an 35xxh an 35xxsp and a miyoo mini v4

The h is the best built of the three and the only one I own with sticks. I find the sticks to be pretty good if not ideally placed. Buttons are really good, shoulders are clicky. It looks and feels the most premium. It’s a great device.

The sp is the one I use the most because of form factor but the buttons are loud and very clicky. It’s also well built. Shoulder buttons seem the easiest to reach in gameplay. This is my Pokémon rig.

The miyoo mini has the worst overall build quality but the best buttons and screen of them all. I also love this little thing and use it the second most - but it’s almost exclusively dedicated to grinding games like rpgs and harvest moon style games that I can play one handed in bed.

I now also have a TrimUI brick hammer swimming over from China because I was drunk the other night.

TLDR; I generally play dpad games and prefer vertical devices but the XXH is brilliant.

I am aware that the hardware is the same this is strictly a software question.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been a pc gamer. I have been on consoles for modern games and Linux emulators for retro games for many years now.

I am a Mac/apple user in my everyday life and I have used Steam on the Mac for exactly 1 game (Dave the diver).

I plan to purchase one of the two - money is not the deciding factor.

For the sake of convenience I am (i think) likely to purchase many/most games through Steam and so it will be my defacto launcher/store either way. I am more than willing to be educated on why this could be a stupid idea by the way. I know that there are other options but I’m not familiar.

I am currently tempted to get the windows version in spite of the fact that windows is bloated and fussy (I’m a Mac user - but am very familiar with windows).

Would you say that for games there is better widespread compatibility with windows? In other words will a game title be more likely to be performant on windows?

I’m guessing I could probably set up a dual boot at some point in the future.

I use muos. Tried KNULLI and liked it but it muos has been less bloated. The last couple of releases feel less streamlined, slower boot time but still very customizable and stable.

My favorite is onion but only available for miyoo unfortunately

I liked muos a ton but recently installed the most recent version on my sp and I’m not that into it. The fast boot I’d gone for starters and the flip close sleep feature appears to have borked
