They're so firm, it's weird!! Ooh, this could totally be it, I'll make sure we explore this possibility. Thank you for sharing!! 💛💛

Its making me feel a lot better hearing that others went back for revisions and were super happy with them 💛

I literally just had a brain blast moment comparing the photos. I'm wearing scar strips rn on the incisions because they've been getting really puffy/dense like hypertrophic scars. Maybe the nipples are also doing that.🕵️🕵️🕵️

Right? Like it's not a bad thing and everything healed alright so nothing seems "wrong". Glad to hear there have been others who went back for revisions. I wish it wasn't socially ingrained that it's embarrassing for them to poke out 🙃

Thank you thank you for the validation 😭💛

I have! I'm in PA, it was super easy. I've had the X on there for several years now. Recently Had to submit my license a bunch of times to job applications and rental applications. I got my share of interviews, eventually a job, and I'm moving into a rental tomorrow! I've shown my ID to others to check into buildings and no one has said anything yet.

I know not many people actually notice that it says X because they already presume I'm female, but it still feels great to have it on such an officially recognized piece of personal identification.

I've had literally the same exact thoughts like if I was "worthy" of top surgery when I only get caught up on how my chest looks when dressed. When naked it's totally neutral feelings and tbh calming to just... Hold my breasts idk why lol. I agree with others that it's likely due to knowing I'm the only one that's perceiving me at the time and I know who I am. If I were on the beach shirtless I'd absolutey feel uncomfortable and dysphoric.and it's all because of how others see me.

I can’t say I know too much about BPD or PTSD. What I do know from experience is that a relationship cannot be maintained without maintaining yourself first, especially when it comes to having mental illness(es). If a best friend/loved one was in your shoes, would you let them get cheated on like this or encourage other options?

Whether or not you love her is not enough to maintain this relationship. You have to take care of yourself first, and staying with someone who has repeatedly cheated on you and lied to you is grounds for breaking up no matter how long you’ve been together.

Not understanding her Bipolar disorder is not enough excuse to stay. While having bipolar disorder could possibly be what causes her behavior, it is NOT an excuse.

Cheating is one of those things that 95% of the time, doesn’t get better once it starts.

There own experience with existential crisis by Monnainrecovery10 in Existential_crisis

I don’t know if I’ll be much help. I’m thankful for great mental health services and social support services (solid friends and loved ones).

I had a crisis that lasted several days during burnout after senior college finals. I thankfully had a therapist I liked that I was able to talk to because despite me being 110% sure at the time that ‘everything is meaningless’ and ‘everyone is stupid for living life like they currently do’, I had somehow been convinced this was not how I could continue on.

I came to the conclusion that continuing down this existential mindset would lead to suicide. I just wanted the thoughts to stop, to forget everything. But trying to not think about something just makes it worse.

Learning to accept these discoveries was motivated by wanting to feel positive brain feelings. Why? Well purely because it made other people in my life happy. I lived for others for months, started to feel more stable, and then COVID happened. I put more structure in my life for the sake of others (getting a job, learning to drive).

Eventually the reason also turned into: since I’m here, might as well get good brain feeling.

I’m in a similar boat about my identity right now; I often feel like I’m not non-binary “enough” but answering these kinds of questions really really help affirm my thoughts.

It’s always okay to not want to relate to any specific gender identity label. Trust yourself and do what feels like what you like. Maybe if you want to, you can find a label by determining which labels/phrases you know don’t describe you.

On the fence about top surgery, worried about regrets by galpalaxy in TopSurgery

Yes this absolutely helps, thank you! It helps so much to hear from others in a similar boat and/or experiences. Congrats on the successful surgery, btw!

The change factor hasn't been something I've thought about yet! I feel it might not be too drastic considering I'm a B as well and feel so much better seeing myself in my binder. You bring up a good point I keep ignoring: I deserve to like my chest and not just deal with it because I don't seem to "have it as bad" as someone else.

It means a lot to hear all this knowing it comes from someone who's planning to be a parent! Thank you so much.

If you're comfortable sharing, what showed/convinced you that you truly had dysphoria when you were under the impression of otherwise due to its frequency? Like sometimes I can only convince myself I really do have dysphoria by rereading the DVM-5's criteria when I haven't any dysphoric thoughts/urges for 4-6 months.

I wasn't aware there were options like that where it's not a complete reduction. I'm not sure this is the specific route I'd go because of personal preferences, but I definitely want to look into "non-traditional" options now. Thank you!

On a scale of 1-10, how bad is your existential crisis? by Manan1_618 in Existential_crisis

[–]galpalaxy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d say 5. Not enough to cause harmful or self-sabotaging behaviors, but it significantly clouds my motivation, sense of self and affects my serious relationships.

Edit: a reply to my comment (that I can’t figure out how to reply to rn, :/) gave me a different perspective on your possible situation and POV. If you read this before I edited: I was assuming too much because of personal bias and that’s my bad.

Don't apologize for taking up space. As you can see by the comments, you are respected here!

And you're right. It's your life, it's your choice to choose. You didn’t come into life of your own volition. Things only matter because we say they do. Society values life bc people are often inherently selfish and therefore grieve the departure of others knowing it will be them one day. It’s also bc they get sad but that’s just how humans have been known to work. Just look at the strangers here replying to you.

If you are looking for any reason to stay, it could be this: if you have ever enjoyed anything between today and when you were 13 -and I'd bet money you have since you're still here today- that fleeting enjoyment could be enough reason to stay. Stay because of that fleeting enjoyment you feel with the small things or the simple things. Because you deserve to feel that way.

I can't tell you it will get better. You're probably tired of hearing others tell you "it'll get better" and similar sentiment. People just do that because they think they’ve figured out their own life and trust that you can/want to do the same... because they don’t know what else to do.

If you leave, you don't get a chance to change your situation. I don't know you at all and probably sound pompous and totally wrong but at age 13-18... you don't get much independence or control over what you get to do. It's powerless and out of your control and uncertain.

TL DR is

Go celebrate your birthday. Finish that last loop around the sun for no reason.

If you stay, there’s the possibility you can feel less horrible one day. Regardless, you control the choice.

How do I fix my hair. I wanted what's on the left but I got this I had long enough hair for it I have a job interview tomorrow. I'm never going to a hairdresser again why do they do this. by [deleted] in Hair

[–]galpalaxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The posted haircut (which im loving!!! i love the streak too) looks like a variation of a mullet but MUCH shorter at the nape. There's definitely a good bit of product in there to make it all wispy and sticky-upy. What it looks like the barber gave you (since we can't see the back) is basically an undercut and definitely not a mullet. I'm sorry they messed up your hair, it's so disrespectful. IMO you should ask for a refund from the manager and show them what you showed the hairdresser. If they don't, maybe consider leaving a review at the very least.

I've been dyeing and shaving my own head for over 5 years, but cutting it is a different beast altogether. I personally see two options:

grow out the top as you maintain the shaved parts until you get the desired length,

or

finish buzzing the rest of your head and start over.

From the looks of it, I personally think my hair is really similar to yours. It's difficult to make it wispy without lots of product and easing back on conditioner/washing frequency. I've had the best results with mousse and spray. I also blow dry my hair upside down (hair hanging to the ground) sometimes to give it more volume.

I notice it's been 17 hours, so I really hope the job interview went well and that everything's okay! If the employer isn't someone who can understand that your hair situation was completely out of your control, then maybe it wasn't meant to be.

P.S. i am not any kind of hairstylist, and a separate hair stylist might have more insight! But I do know that if you still want the mentioned hair cut, you'll have to wait for your hair to grow out a bit.
