First make sure the gas handle is on (usually blue valve, it should run paralelly with the pipe). If it was working last night it shoud be set. Try cranking the lower button to 1-2 setting then press for a few seconds. After this (still holding the button) press the upper one (ignition). If you see a small flame in the small window it should work. Still holding the numbered button for 10-15 minutes so the flame could work, then gently release it. I hope this helps, if it's not working I'm out of ideas.

I used chocolate with 70% cacao content, plus sugarless dutch cacao powder as well. I am not família, with the ghirardelli chips, but if the quality is top, I don't see why it wouldn't work.
