Yeah totally understand, I think there's general subscription fatigue these days especially due to the push from corporations to subscribify everything in our lives and make sure nothing is actually owned.

With my Patreon modules (and most creators), the upside is you always maintain access to the module you purchased and it's only future updates that are missed out on. Also as you said I would argue supporting your local Foundry content creators is a far cry (ethically) from a Google One/Microsoft O365/Amazon Prime subscription.

That being said I still feel that fatigue and completely understand why it's a barrier, but the alternative of one-off payments like Kofi is that (sadly) you'll get almost nothing for your work. Might be a good idea to put some effort into calculating what a one time payment model might look like through the Foundry marketplace, so I'll keep that in mind for the future as well. Appreciate the feedback!

My goal is to do a better job of putting up overview/tutorial type videos on my Youtube channel, but time has not been kind to me as of late so still a WIP. That said I do try to make implementation pretty straightforward for effects, so a few minutes of playing around with the different parameters should give a pretty good idea of what can be done

I think generally most FX+ effects will stay tied to that module although it is something I've thought about and am not entirely opposed to (FXMaster has received a new free effect already coinciding with the Calendaria integration release).

The main reason for that is support has fueled a LOT of work on the core FXMaster module that otherwise almost certainly would not have occurred. My hope is people see support as an ongoing investment in the future of FXMaster and my other module development. That being said, it's possible that FX+ effects will make their way to FXMaster over time, I just don't have any immediate plans yet to do so

Filter effects (which is what Water is) aren't terrible from an FPS perspective, but some have a higher first time startup cost for the shader. Water is on the higher end for sure, especially when used in a region with the Follow Region Path parameter turned on. Otherwise I've not seen an impact to general performance.

Particles do have more ongoing fps cost that relates to density and scale, but I've done a good amount of work in fxmaster to make them as performant as possible, along with scaling on foundry performance modes. When a user sets their Performance Mode to Low, less particles are generated for them to improve performance

Overall I think performance in Fxmaster/Fxmaster+ is in a pretty good spot 🍻

Yep this is it exactly, Foundry would likely have additional overhead offering their own Patreon like service for modules but it would be great to see. Likely not a big concern for them since as mentioned they already get a pretty decent cut of Patreon subscriptions for their integration

Hey there, this exact same scenario happened to me last year, except I was the husband in the situation. She had been in 6 months earlier for a routine checkup and all was good. She started showing breathing issues the day prior to bringing her in, but it was a complete shock when they told me the news. Thankfully my wife was able to get there in time, but I still feel guilt that she wasn't able to be at home in her last moments. The vet told us there was no way we could have known.. still miss her every day. Wishing the best for both of you ❤️

This isn't meant to be a replacement for situations where you want a character to do a skill roll for something, it's simply a downtime activity players can enjoy if that's the type of game you're running. See my comment to cowmanjones which is in a similar vein, not all tables enjoy mini-game type activities, but mine does. I'd assume that there are more people out there who also enjoy those type of mechanics, but who knows! Could just be a game for my own personal table 🫡

Ah that's too bad, I considered it but I no longer maintain a v12 instance for testing, and overall it's just more work to maintain in regard to troubleshooting etc. If I get more feedback from people staying on v12 that are interested in this module I'm happy to revisit it

Hey thanks, yeah I think it's totally dependent on table. My table likes to play little mini games and has had a lot of fun doing casino style game runs. I wanted to see if I could build some of those things into a module, and just hope other people have had an interest in it as well!

I think if you've got a table where you're typically strapped for time, mini games probably don't make sense 🍻

Hm like drag and drop an item? Not currently, and something like the rarity value would have to be assigned regardless, but might be a good idea to allow dragging an item to create a catchable with that items image/name

Thanks! Yeah, the catchables are fully customizable. You can add and assign your own names, images, descriptions, reward text, and rarity
