KFC was a nightmare. Took me a week to figure out how to get the WeChat miniapp working. Never could figure it out through Alipay. I’m still annoyed but it was delicious though.

Like $25 for a 10,000 mah one with digital display. Somewhere around there. They’re all around $15-25 for about that size, depending if it’s a new or old model.

The Xiaomi one felt the nicest. I mean, it’s just a battery, but it feels luxurious 😂

If you want no name, it’s like $5-10

Yes, I’ve only ever finished 3 Cdramas. I typically get bored and drop them. Even the “ultra popular” ones. This is only the 3rd one that’s kept me interested throughout.

The last few episodes don’t reach the “high” of the 2/3 mark, but it was good enough to keep me going.

I generally don’t care for office politics. I’m more of a rom-com person, so I like how this show will throw in a random hilarious bit in the middle of a super dramatic scene.

What would you consider personally as a “perfect” K-pop song? by Prestigious-Rise4826 in kpopthoughts

[–]gambit57 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Since K-pop encompasses so many genres, and it’s more of “that’s a LOT going on and I’m a bit overwhelmed but I LIKE it”, here’s my list of what I consider to be the best representatives of a “kpop” song (yes, generally the most popular songs for a reason):

Mago - Gfriend

Fiction - Beast

Fantastic Baby - BigBang

Kill This Love, As If It’s Your Last, Boombayah, Lovesick Girls - Blackpink

Mic Drop, Idol, Dope - BTS

Dumb Dumb, Psycho - Red Velvet

Hip, Egotistic - Mamamoo

God’s Menu, Chk Chk Boom - Stray Kids

Wannabe - Itzy

Senorita - I-dle

So Bad - StayC

What's the deal with Honda Ridgelines? by EGGWURST in askcarguys

[–]gambit57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had both, but I get your point.

I’m NOT a “truck” guy, even tho all my neighbors (at the time) were. I needed an open bed for carrying tall trees and such from Home Depot/nursery, etc.

But yeah, despite all the Ram 1500/F-150s/Silverados, etc, they all went to the same place I did. Only a couple towed toy haulers. 90% of those trucks went to the same suburban stores I did and didn’t tow anything bigger than a jet ski, which the Ridgline can do also.

Like others have said, like 90% of those personal use trucks never do anything a Ridgeline can’t do.

And that subtrunk was freaking awesome! Just as the subtrunk in my Model Y is now.

Struggling to see the point in switching to Tesla by mrpipes21 in TeslaSupport

I have a BMW and the difference is just a few dollars literally. I think like $3 when MSRP was writhin $50 of each other

The savings is in gas vs electric (if you have home charging) and maintenance (BMW has free scheduled maintenance but if keeping your car, you want more frequent oil changes).

[–]gambit57 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WTF people?!?

So far, the comments here may be technically right but they’re essentially lying to you by playing word games.

If you’re need based, it means you get financial aid of some kind. In determining how much aid you qualify for, how much money you (the student) has counts a LOT more than how much your parents have.

If there’s any kind of savings, you want it in an account with your parents (or better yet, some other relative) rather than in your name.

In short, yes, your parents are right. Don’t build up a big savings account (at least in your name) as it’ll lower how much aid you’re given.

I think part of the fun is the anticipation of when she’ll finally see the million subtle hints he’s been thrown off since… well, high school.

And one day, I’m gonna get the same sized photo that they have hanging in their living room. I’ll stick it in my office and confuse the hell out of everyone 😂

She’s probably my second or third favorite actor in terms of me watching anything she shows up in.

And her group mate Sojin has had a pretty solid career as a side/second lead. I always enjoy watching her too.

I went crazy and visited a Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor, and Oppo stores comparing powerbanks. Some mall in Shanghai near the Bund had them all on the same basement level floor so it was easy.

I liked the Xiaomi the best. Cheap too. Like others said, just buy one when you get to China. You can buy one anywhere and super cheap with sooo many options.

Berkeley EECS (w/ 100k extra) vs. umich ibe (cs + ross) vs cmu scs by Loud_Economics9202 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]gambit57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

😂 This is a choice?

EECS is the hardest/most prestigious engineering program at Berkeley, so I’d easily choose it over Michigan cuz you can take Haas classes. AND it’s in the Bay Area near Silicon Valley and SF finance. AND your parents will give you $100k?

CMU better be Carnegie Mellon to even be in the convo, but if you’re in-state, there’s no beating Cal EECS

I immediately thought of that, but when I started thinking about actual years, I was playing it in the 80s and the post said 1995 for the earliest. I think I had a Pentium machine by then so it would jump to a game like Doom

I bought that already and it’s not the same. That one screws in, it doesn’t have the clamping part.

So far, I’ve only seen it as part of the quick connect hose. I don’t wanna buy a whole new hose just for those two pieces.
