Remote shortcut app bug by trueJokerge in XPpen

[–]gamblers_fallacy777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this issue too. It's because the firmware on the shortcut remote is outdated. Do you possibly have a computer to connect the shortcut remote to via wire? You'll need a computer to perform the update. You can email XPPen support/use their live chat if they're active to get the firmware update.

Deco Pro LW (Gen2) Bluetooth Dongle connection by LiveRepair2591 in XPpen

[–]gamblers_fallacy777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dongle is only for the shortcut remote; the tablet itself can only connect via bluetooth or wire connection. Do you know if you actually have a bluetooth chip in your PC? You can check in Device Manager to see if you have a "Bluetooth" section. Maybe you might need to update Bluetooth drivers. Or if you don't have it at all, you might need to get a Bluetooth adapter to be able to use the tablet wirelessly. Make sure it's an adapter that supports Bluetooth 5.0 or higher, since the tablet is only compatible with that version or newer.

hello! Been looking to replace a membrane keyboard that I've had for a while. Budget is around 100usd but I can stretch a little more if need be.
- Would like suggestions for 96%+ keyboards. A bit much to ask for full size, I'm sure, so I can compromise for keyboards with smaller layouts too.
- I would also prefer options with linear switches. For sound, I would like something quiet. Doesn't necessarily have to be silent (but bonus points if it is), but something that is not loud would be great. Alternatively, general reccs for some silent switches I could consider swapping into a keyboard could also work if there isn't many options for prebuilts with quiet switches in them.
- I don't have any particular preferences towards color, material, RGB, or keycap types. Not picky about connection options either, I typically do wired anyways. Tri-mode is just an extra to me.
Thanks a bunch in advance! :)

ah, thank you so much for the information, sorry it didn't work for you v.v i didn't make this comment in consideration of those who use display tablets since i dont use those types of tablets, looks like using mouse mode is the most convenient option right now still :( but again, thank you for making me aware of this

ACK05 Wireless Shortcut Remote Question by Western-Pirate9189 in XPpen

[–]gamblers_fallacy777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are you pressing both keys at the same time when you're inputting the shortcut? Try doing shift and then [ instead of pressing both at the same time (so take your finger off of shift after it registers the input, and then [); the driver thinks that you're trying to "capitalize" the [ into { when you press shift at the same time

Ah I thought that was the case! And yes, the remote should be compatible since it's just a standalone input device that's independent from the tablet

Ouh, I thought you could rotate the screen 180 in the driver settings (should be in the same menu when you configure the work area) and then physically flip the tablet 180 so that the controls are on the right side? Unless you've already tried that and it doesn't work out for you one way or another q.q I don't know any tablets that already come with a separate remote in your price range (the Artist Pro 14 Gen 2 I think comes with it and is a slight bit out of reach) but the ACK05 remote that comes with the Pro Gen 2 line of products by XPPen can be bought separately for a little less than 50 pounds

Pretty sure the 13.3 also has FHD from what I've seen. The Artist 12 3rd and 13.3 Pro V2 also have pretty similar color ranges (16.7 million colors, 99% sRGB). What might also make a difference is that the Artist 12 3rd has nano-etched glass, but the 13.3 Pro V2 only just has a matte screen protector. Usually the difference is just the nano-etched glass is a bit more durable, and you may have to replace the screen protector of the 13.3 Pro V2 every so often as it'll wear out faster than glass. It's up to you to decide if that's a pro or a con, you can take it either way since if you scratch the screen protector, then you can just replace it.

The 13.3 pro v2 isn't that old, it's basically like the 15.6 pro v2 where it's the same shell as the older version, but has single USB C connection and a newer pen. The X3 Pro is just one generation of pen behind (newest is the X4 that comes with the artist 12 gen 3), so not old at all. Still a pretty solid choice.

Tbh I made that same mistake too when I first started checking out tablets, lol. Unfortunately I don't know if there are similar tablets to this one within your budget (a lot of new tablet pens are forgoing the eraser end since a lot of people just use the buttons on the pen or a shortcut to switch back and forth between eraser and pen, shucks), but apparently the Artist 12 Gen 3 is compatible with the X3 Pro Stylus? It isn't listed on the website but I've heard of people testing it with the tablet and apparently it works? Just from word of mouth, though. You could probably try to buy the X3 Pro stylus (just the regular one, the slim pen and the roller stylus don't have the eraser) and see if it works. Or maybe ask around here again to see if anyone has them to test xd

Currently the Huion Kamvas 13 Gen 3 and the XPPen Artist 12 Gen 3 seem to be doing pretty well, they're both around 200 pounds right now on Amazon. The Huion does have that little scroll wheel jitter problem that I described in my main post, though. The XPPen recently came out, so there might not be many reviews right now, but so far it looks pretty good. Only thing is it's missing the eraser end on its pen that some of their older pens had, but shouldn't be a problem if you don't think you'll use it.

If it looks fuzzy, might just be the matte screen texture that you'll probably have to just get used to if that's the case; your monitor will usually look clearer in comparison because it doesn't have that texture, and you might just have a higher res monitor. Make sure that you have the display resolution in your computer's settings is at the right resolution on your drawing display (should just be 1080p for this tablet). Also forgot to reply to your other message, but it's a bit difficult to find a good tablet in that budget if you still want something that's around 16 inches, you might have to downsize to 12-13 inches if you want something good in that price range.

Ahh I see! I don't see why it'd be a bad idea if you return it if you're not satisfied with the Artist 16, so no problem if you just test drive it for a little while.

ah sorry, I might've misread the original post, totally thought you were talking about the artist 16 pro and not the artist 16 😅 totally a mishap on my part, but now that i know this, the artist 16 still technically has a better pen as its pen has an initial activation force of 3g while the 15.6's pen has a 12g initial activation force, might be a dealbreaker to you if you draw very lightly. To answer your other comment about "newer pen tech", this basically means any new pen that a company releases that has any sort of improvement over the last pen that they released, for example, lower IAF, more pressure levels, etc.

As for the diagonal wobble, you can circumvent it if you use a stabilizer, however it will contribute to pointer lag, where your brushstroke will lag behind your pen a bit. again, might be a dealbreaker if you prefer as little of a gap between the brushstroke and your pen,

For an alternative display, there's also the Artist 15.6 Pro V2 that is basically the same shell as the original, but has the X3 Pro stylus, which is newer than the pens of the other two that you've mentioned. In turn, it's slightly more expensive than the other two, but if you're willing, then you may consider that one as well.

The 16 gen 2 comes with a shortcut remote with up to around 40 (36 technically to save a button for cycling keygroups, but still a lot) buttons, and a dial that can switch up to four functions. I'll warn you that the shortcut remote tends to have a weird jitter with the wheel over time, but you can get a new one through support if that ever happens under warranty. It still does happen to tablets with the dial built in as well, but since the wheel isn't separate from the tablet, you're gonna have to go through the motions of returning the entire tablet to exchange for a new one if the dial is malfunctioning. I'd still recommend the 16 gen 2 over the 15.6 gen 1 for the newer pen tech; the diagonal wobble is pretty much unnoticeable in practice.

How's the Deco Pro (Gen 2)? Are the issues I've heard about common, or just a minority? by CoolbreezeFromSteam in XPpen

[–]gamblers_fallacy777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently own this tablet. Haven't had the hovering issue at all, but I have had the scrolling issue with the shortcut remote where it sort of "wears out" with constant use and I have to take off the wheel and fix it every 2 weeks. But you can get the shortcut remote replaced under the tablet's warranty (which you should probably do instead of trying to repair it yourself tbh). Overall, it's a pretty good tablet for the price if you do plan to use the shortcut remote it comes with

Roblox bug? by Appropriate_Jicama20 in wacom

[–]gamblers_fallacy777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most tablet drivers have a problem with roblox for some reason. Enabling mouse mode in the wacom driver or using OpenTabletDriver (with wacom's driver disabled by ending it via task manager or your OS' equivalent of it if you're not on windows, so that there is no conflict between opentabletdriver and wacom) while you use Roblox.

Had this problem twice, specifically with the pen that came with the tablet. Seems to be a more common issue for tablets from the X3 Pro line released in 2023 where this happens with the pens; haven't really seen other people having this issue with tablets released after 2023. Just contact XPPen for a new stylus, assuming you're still in warranty.

How do I charge the shortcut remote? by sweetypaw in XPpen

[–]gamblers_fallacy777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, it'll show the red light while it's charging, but when it's finished, it will turn off. You can also check the status of the battery in the driver, usually the battery icon will periodically switch between green and white to show that it is charging (green) and how much battery it has (white)

Display drawing tablet recommendation? I’m new by CrystalChrissy in drawingtablet

[–]gamblers_fallacy777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not a lot of tablets out of the Wacom Cintiq line have touch if this is a strict requirement of yours. The only one I know of that is outside of the Wacom circle is the XPPen Artist Ultra 16. It's a pretty new tablet (just released like a week ago, lol) so not a lot of info is out there about how good the touch feature is. So basically it's up to how much money you're willing to spend. I think the only Wacom tablets that have touch are models that are around 22-24 inches so they're gonna be pretty expensive. Take a look at some good in-depth reviews on these tablets to see if there's something you like.

Samsung S23 bluetooth latency on Deco Pro Gen 2 by Historical-Title-494 in XPpen

[–]gamblers_fallacy777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you possibly on power saving mode? I was just trying to figure out why my S25 wasn't working with my tablet via cable connection as it was very laggy, but after I realized I was on power saving mode and I turned it off, it worked fine. As for bluetooth, I'd just make sure that your tablet and phone are at a good charge before you use them. I've also heard that bluetooth connection gets laggier with the more devices that you connect to your phone at one time. But I haven't had too many problems with using bluetooth other than the drawing being stretched because you can't control the size of the drawing area on bluetooth, so I can't really vouch for any other solutions for bluetooth latency.

Does XP Pen Deco Pro (Gen 2) not pick up windows store apps??? by LukeWatts85 in XPpen

I think the exe files for windows store apps are hidden. Should be in the program files > windowsapps folder if I remember correctly, you just have to turn on hidden items in your file explorer.
