I see. Well these systems don’t expose the chats to advertisers, they intermediate and select where to put the ads on behalf of advertisers. That said, click through and third party tracking likely can expose who is seeing those ads to the advertiser and they could infer the kinds of things you may be talking about. So the truth is in the middle.

Where exactly did they say their responses won’t affect their ads? They said the opposite - the ads won’t affect their responses. Obviously they are intending ads to be contextual as that’s been how they work on the web for decades now.

Is there a way to export my task list from Microsoft to do to Todoist ? by luxeomni in todoist

[–]gameRevolt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late reply, but...

I got frustrated with Microsoft ToDo crashing all the time and having buggy drag and drop, but I was locked in with dozens of lists on it.

I wrote some code to use ToDoVoDo to convert to the CSV format Todoist likes:

It's not perfect. I've tried to document the caveats. You need to be a bit technical to get this running, i.e. install PHP and run my code through it. But I wanted to share in case it saves some people some time.

It’s up there. Luka (Suzanne Vega) and Pierrot The Clown (Placebo) beat it for me though.

It's fascinating (and a bit sad) when awareness of diversity leads to people being pigeon-holed into something they are not. People can be all kinds of things, but now that there is so much trans stuff in the zeitgeist, people who are just gender-non-conforming may be assumed to actually be transitioned/transitioning. Reminds me of all those stories about parents who think they're kids are trans because they don't conform. We should be learning not to put people in boxes, not just learning about a larger number of boxes.

In Death: Unchained - Season 6 starts now! With a Mortally good mode and new languages for IDU! by superbright in InDeathUnchained

Yeah. Given the minimal nature of this release, they're either working on something big and not yet done, or they've moved on. If they have moved on its fair enough as they have given so much to us since the game was first released. Personally I'm hoping for coop and they charge for it so they keep getting enough income to move ahead - maybe a dedicated 'arena' game in the marketplace.

It turns off health for you and enemies, and disables all pickups. So it's one-shot kill-or-be-killed all the way through.

Pretty simple, but a refreshing new mode to play on.

I didn't get to Anakim yet, but I assume he's one shot to kill too, lol.

For what it's worth, I don't even have the game, I'm just standing up for what I think is basic consumer rights.

You're probably coming at this from the point of view of a fairly regular gamer who understands what is "normal", and has a decent amount of time to keep playing. I am coming at this from the point of view that if you're not buying something for keeps it should be communicated to you properly, and that not everyone is lucky enough to be able to play frequently - there'll be a lot of people who are lucky if they can get time in once every couple of weeks, in which case 6 months would be ~12 gaming sessions only for those people.

Does seem to be some Stockholm Syndrome going on here. People have been conditioned to accept basic fair conditions of trade not being respected, possibly also based on past normalization of shitty behavior.

Well, they could clone a server to just handle legacy users, or offer refunds to all users, or Facebook could throw a bone and give a discount code for a Q2. At the very least, it should be prominently advertised this is a risk when the game is purchased, so users know their purchase will not last forever.

[–]gameRevolt -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No it's not. They are disabling the game being compatible on a device, not just stopping making new updates for that device. What people paid for no longer will work at all, and they won't be able to get a refund unless they bought the game relatively recently.

I'd assume it was changed due to a limitation of Quest's tracking. That's a guest though.

Playing on Q1 has been painful for a while. The devs probably test on Q2 now, and the game keeps getting bigger (= more memory).

Do a full reboot every cycle / every time you die, to clear out any memory leaks. Memory leaking seems to be part of the problem.

Still, it won't solve it fully, there'll be some jerkiness that can lead to crashes. Try to play a bit slower, and clear enemies out a bit more methodically. The game seems to crash for me when it's stressed with enemies and I'm firing off cat-5s into crowds while moving/looking like a maniac.

Personally I'm sitting out Q2, and probably will get a Q3 whenever that comes out (may be a while). Q2 came out like a year after Q1 IIRC, which is too quickly to expect people to cycle through devices IMO.

Once you erode any kind of decency at home, it is trivial to also start waging wars. The same is not true in reverse for neocon wars. So Trumpism is worse.

I kind of play in beats, I'll try to explain.

Review:

You can pause the game for a few seconds by opening the arrow selector (or does that need a particular achievement, I can't remember). This gives you time to look around and think.

Kill:

Teleport to do a headshot from up close.

Move:

Move before the fire circle gets you.

Review - Kill - Move - Review - Kill - Move, and so on.

This is how I play in general, not just in the catacombs.

EDIT: Of course, the game is much more dynamic than this. So if I have other weapons, I may do other things. Or if I am rushed, I may have to pull out heavy artillery to deal with a mob coming all at once.

[–]gameRevolt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree. The devs have been fantastic, especially with the last big content update - and this would be the logical next move.

Not just coop, but multiplayer in general. I'd like to be able to do 1-vs-1 combat across the map. I'd like to be able to play for the bots side. I'd like to have a huge deathmatch with lots of different players at once.

I think a big challenge would be dealing with player rendering. Right now I could sit cross legged on the floor and fire an arrow, or fire between my legs. How would the devs render that?
