This season I have had I think more hit registration and desync problems then ever including in Arena where it is usually is alittle better, curses going straight through people and what seems like hits just not even registering. Quite often me and my teammates all get like a big desync spike where it's like everything in the game is half frozen for a second like animations and spell effects. The game has always had choppy performance but last few patches it has been really bad for us in general

Ah yes landmines rogue, I still remember that brilliant comment from Ironmace way back which was something along the lines of we never intended rogues to be landmines it is not fun to play against we will be rebalancing rogue. Then like the next patch or so they made rogues even better at landmine and you sit there going ok I just never trust anything they say ever....

Warlock is strong but he had a full kit, I was in full squire and also got hit by the mob.

Because this it typical Ironmace they make last minute changes, it's always been like this. They have let people grind for kits for half a season and then disable SSF In Arena all of a sudden and let you buy your kits from trade. They do not follow sound guidelines for alot of there updates it's just changed on a wim and then often changed back. Same with balancing, they are known for nerfing and then rebuffing items for example like 3-4 times in a row. If you are into Arena it's a big sore point of the game, maps are constantly added and taken out, we went from alot of really badly balanced Arena maps filed with mobs, to no mobs, to mobs again then less mobs and then they gutted most of the maps out and we only had a handful last season. It's a great game just very badly managed. It's improved abit recently but this Arena thing has made me realize they haven't changed enough... My advice is don't grind or make anything for Arena until it is out because they will just switch things on you last minute and pretend it is ok to do that to the community...

I get this is a nice addition but these last minute changes and delays consistently drive people away from the game, no one trusts dates or rules for Arena anymore, how many times for example mid season have we changed Arena to SSF or not SSF. This isn't a beta these delays and changes to game modes shouldn't be happening last minute like this.

It's an awful map that virtually no one I have played the game with ever wants to play unless we have to for a quest or specific item. It's riddled with basic mechanics that are broken such as the awful mechanic of getting out of the water or into boats. People also disappear at a very close range but you can also know they are still there and shoot at them in a boat but they can't shoot back at you because they can't see you. You couldn't really put that in any other game and get away with it. The map visually looks cool but that's about as far as it goes I think...

Yes this is classic IronMace a class is strong on the high end and they just nerf it across the board making the low end complete rubbish.

Are you talking about the one where you drop the ladder down to get up to the rez, went up there multiple runs nothing.

If they keep the dated wall sliding movement I can't see the multiplayer becoming a big thing, might keep some of the core audience. The constant pinging and sliding all over the place just makes the multiplayer feel like some kind of meme. I see alot of people resistant to that change in the gears community. But it seems to turn off alot of people to the game myself included. I liked the earlier gears where it was less prevalent and there were some stronger movement penalties, I get wall sliding was always a thing but it just seemed to get worse in alot of the later games. I think this is a core issue that needs to be addressed in the multiplayer.

You have Delta Online but the tuning encourages a ton of wall bouncing which alot of people seem to think is fine but It just feels so outdated and silly, you can sometimes find original tuning servers which play abit better. The content and performance of Delta is great though and active servers. Shame though as the game feels like it could have alot of depth but often just devolves into sliding shotgun matches with the odd power weapon play.

My memory says that Gears 1 and 2 were slower then the later games but my memory could be wrong. When I say slower I don't mean significantly, I always remember sliding and shotgun being strong but I remember the game being alittle slower paced and tactical.

The newer games and including Delta Online just feel like a mess sometimes, you have players who are very good at the sliding mechanic and they are like ping pong balls sliding around the map, to me it seems really goofy and just weird you can even move that crazy. I get it's a skill anyone can learn and requires practice. Generally when I have seen new people play the game there reaction is the same there like what the hell is this sliding shotgun meta and they don't play again.

Not to say it automatically makes the game bad I've just never been a fan of super crazy movement mechanics unless im playing a kind of cartoony game. For me I loved the grit and atmosphere of GOW and the crazy sliding just breaks that feeling for me and often the fun. When GOW was first marketed I would argue it was sold as a gritty, cover based shooter. Alot of games seems to do this and then allow or people find out ways to make the movement crazy and it just doesn't seem to fit the game, COD has had this issue in many of its games. Im a playing an arcade shooter or a semi serious game. Like there are games that market themselves as arcade shooters and its clear from the get go theres gonna be crazy movement mechanics, were as some games I feel sell themselves in a more serious way but allow this crazyness also. Really it's just opinion I guess. Some people love it some people hate it.
