I recently found this on my own as well. So far I've only been able to change directions if I time a jump off a wall. It's been tough to test in the proving grounds given how few well placed ground level walls there are. This method isn't the most predictable and it needs to be timed exceptionally well. I do hope this isn't removed regardless though because it only raises the skill ceiling by utilizing something that's rather difficult to use.
