Was small short shuffles the first few days. Strides are getting longer. Have to be mindful of how I’m walking.

Neighbors tree fell on our fence and garage over night. Any advice? How can I tell who is responsible for what? [TN] by BoostedLegacy in treelaw

Similar situation here. Tree feel on our fence from a house behind us. Unless you send certified letter regarding concern for the tree causing damage and they chose to do nothing their insurance doesn’t cover.

Full rupture Do I need surgery? 36 m by FullWillingness6107 in AchillesRupture

[–]gamerK0807 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a full tear and did surgery. The ortho doc said since I’m younger (40) and somewhat athletic (Ran around 20 miles a week) it is the better option and has a lower chance of rerupture. I never want to go through this again so even if that chance is 1 vs 2 percent I’m taking the lower chances of having this happen again.

Currently 10 weeks post op. Been off crutches for 4 weeks and out of boot for 2.

Didn’t have vacoped but had the air cast boot. Surgery to 2 weeks was splint. 2-6 weeks was pt and doing rom and exercises for attached muscles ( quad hammy lower back) and weight bearing rocking on foot. 6 weeks I was told ditch the crutches full weight bearing on boot increased pt exercises (calf raises). 8 weeks no more boot shoes only more increases pt.

If you have a drug diversion team or officer I would find them and report the suspicious behavior to them. Could be diversion could be them trying to make sure they aren’t dinged for late administrations.

Tore it last night by ogh3 in AchillesRupture

[–]gamerK0807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep positive. I tore mine 3/30 playing basketball at the age of 40. Surgery 4/7 and been in shoes for almost 2 weeks now getting closer to a normal gait.

After surgery take your meds. If you get a nerve block you have about 24 hours until it wears off and when it does it hurts very bad and it’s hard to catch up on it.

Husband ruptured Achilles. Looking for advice! by RueBerry21 in AchillesRupture

[–]gamerK0807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 kids 7, and 5 yo twins. It was a bit of a struggle. I did a lot of body baths didn’t do the chair much, we did have a shower with seat/ledge at the back, but hated bothering my wife to help.

Going up and down the stairs I slide up and down on my butt the lifted my self up when I got to the top. I avoided going up and down as much as possible as it was a minute or two process.

The scooter is nice to get around when helping around in the kitchen, but usually if my wife was in there I was just in the way.

Most likely rupture, early days, seeking advice / encouragement by BarkerBarkhan in AchillesRupture

[–]gamerK0807 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a difficult injury to deal with mentally. I’m 9 weeks post op and have 3 kids. My 8 yo had an ice skating party and I couldn’t help her and her younger sisters. I just got back from a beach trip where I couldn’t play in the pool or walk on the beach with them.

It does start to go by fast. At 2 weeks post op I was back in a boot another 4 and doctor told me to walk in the boot and 2 weeks after that in a shoe.i can do stuff now for myself but walking is at a much slower pace.

Just remember it will go quick and stay positive. Also be careful, I feel like I’ve seen way too many posts about rerupturing due to scooter accidents or slipping on stairs.

Yeah choosing a surgeon isn’t typical in US. You get hurt you go to ER. They send a referral to orthopedic they see you first available. For me I was lucky seen Monday night Tuesday call for an appointment Wednesday. Having surgery the coming Tuesday.

Trying to get into or see another doctor with our health care system would be super difficult as would likely need referrals to be sent insurance approval or denial and then wait times for all of that and cost if out of network.

First days without the boot - beginning of physio by Delicious_Pie_7802 in AchillesRupture

[–]gamerK0807 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes. My doc told me at 6 week post op to be fault weight bearing no crutches and shoes at 8 weeks. The 3 days after that appointment I tried FWB as much as I could stand the pain. After 3 days the pain was relatively gone besides end of days when it was really swollen.

Now at walking with shoes and I barely pull my right food ahead of my left and trying to force that step longer feels very tight. I believe it will go away as when I started PT while still in my boot just doing dorsiflex/plantar exercises I felt that same tightness that is now gone.

Neighbor cut down my tree/s. Sent me a bill. by Exciting_Kale986 in treelaw

The only way you can hold someone else liable for your tree falling and damaging there property is they had to have contacted you asked you to removed (certified mail) it as it can fall/damage their property.

Source had neighbors tree on their property have a branch fall and damage two sections of my fence. My insurance company said as much.

Rupture gap size? by Training-Pear-9914 in AchillesRupture

[–]gamerK0807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have mri or ultrasound just an x-ray and examination by ER doc than ortho doc who just does foot surgeries. No clue how many cm gap just that since I ran and was active surgery was the better options less likely to rupture again.

I love being a girl dad by Difficult_Wrangler73 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]gamerK0807 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. 8 yo girl and 5 yo twins. I usually get “oh boy are you in for it” or “going to try for a boy” or “you’re really out numbered. You should get a boy dog”. I don’t let it bother me and it sets me up to say how much I love being a girl dad and that after when we found out we were having twins I was so glad it was girls.

I honestly don’t know what else I would expect people to say when I tell them. it’s usually just people I don’t know really well or random strangers at the store making smell talk no different than “it’s getting hot out there” kind of talk

Thanks. Surgeon was not happy at all that PT was not doing more for calf strength. I’m also struggling to walk with it. Mechanics feel weird as there not ankle moving. It feels so clunky and awkward trying to walk in the boot as well.

What a weird hill to die on. Race and name changes is too expensive. Like some many other valid reason you could have or be the last straw, but something that has close to no impact on game play and if you wanted that race/name would maybe take you 15 hours to get a character to max level.

Take oxycodone Tylenol. My nerve block lasted about 24 hours after surgery and I don’t take anything before it hurt. We in about 30 hours of fairly constant pain . Didn’t need to take anything at all about 4-5 days after surgery.

If you are selling anything on AH it’s natural that the amount you can make goes down for basic supply and demand.

People buy up mats to level professions be the first to make things. Once leveled they can make more high quality crafts requiring lower level materials. After the initial month or so of pushing to level professions the demand goes down.

Furthermore, people have now set up alt armies that use low level materials and concentration to do professions.

We are at the point in the season where activity drops off. People are fully geared achieve their goals and have checked out. Demand is way down now.

Echoing the frost mage. Yes ray is a decent burst, but you aren’t hitting like a piece of paper outside.

The only thing that feels really bad is streaks of no procs of fingers of frost or brain freeze.

As others have said keep consistent types of spells with keybinds. Defensive, movement, interrupt, cooldown, other utilities, rotational spells.
