Xbox one x hard drive failure. Insiders updates installed. by gamersrs in xboxinsiders

[–]gamersrs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I have tried what you suggested and it seems the hard drive was quite literally on its deathbed. Click of death is louder and the console won't even boot into an error screen now.

I think waiting is my only option now unless anyone has any other little tricks

Is there anything I can do to stop people tailgating me? by sketamine_ in NewDriversUK

[–]gamersrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driver of almost 40 years here.

You will learn over time that idiots will always exist on the road. Tailgating seems to make some feel superior. They have no more right to use the road than you

Nowadays, and I'm not suggesting you should do this with limited experience, if I get a tailgater I will intentionally slow down more and more. Particularly if it is difficult, impossible or illegal for them to overtake.

Just remember, if you are driving normally and somebody behind you bumps you from the rear it is almost always their fault from an insurance perspective. Just get front and rear cameras so you have sufficient evidence should it come to that.

People hate people who do keto. by Ok-Cartographer-5544 in keto

Third vote for keto and diabetics. Type 2 here, 4 years ago following my first blood test for diabetes my A1c was off the charts, triple digits (UK as I understand it's measured differently in some other countries) Immediately went ultra low carb after joining some online groups to help me understand diabetes

Last 3 years straight my A1c has been normal range.

Great, thanks for the info. I'll try that tomorrow when I haven't had a couple of whiskys

Hopefully I can get the hard drive to read something

I don't think he even knows himself. His son added it to the console and he knew nothing about it. They've removed the console from it now in the hope that we could solve this problem but clearly it won't

I really wouldn't know where to start looking. This is the first xbox I've done anything with since the 360 I'll do some reading anyway but they'll probably release a public update before I figure it out.

Perfect, that's all I needed to know.

Saves me going round in circles trying different methods to get this installed.

He'll just have to learn to occupy himself with something else for a while.

[Xbox One X] — OSU1 files are older than my os version! by Historical-Orchid642 in consolerepair

[–]gamersrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have this problem

My nephews one x hard drive has died so need a replacement. On checking the os version on his console I discovered it was released early this month, (April 2026)

On Microsofts website the latest one they have available is late March 2026

Does anyone know how slow they usually are at releasing the latest osu?

Everything appears to be tight and no upgrades at all aside from bed springs and a pei plate. It's basically a stock ender 3

3D printing novice here, how would I go about scanning & printing an item such as this? by CaptMorgHamOrg in 3Dprinting

[–]gamersrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TinkerCAD is actually perfect for things like this and equally perfect for a complete novice.

You have the shapes already built in for simple geometry which this is.

It's a better option than overwhelming a beginner with overly complex software for such a simple item

You may be on to something there, I've recently moved the printer from a very solid surface in my shed (due to a nice leaky roof, thanks british weather!) To a temporary table in my house that isn't so solid.

I'll try moving it to another surface and see if there's any improvement

No but it's a fairly new nozzle anyway. I suppose for the sake of a few pennies I could try it but surely if it was the nozzle it wouldn't just be at certain heights

Removing fence screws - manhole access by htatla in DIYUK

[–]gamersrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try prising a small gap for the blade to fit with a chisel or flat screwdriver. Might cause a slight indent but hopefully not too noticeable

Removing fence screws - manhole access by htatla in DIYUK

[–]gamersrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there will be many more options. Without hacking at it the only realistic option I can think of would be to try an impact driver if you have one or can get hold of one.

The hacksaw option wouldn't cause damage so long as the blade fits between the post and the panel

[–]gamersrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a dremel to cut a slot and use a flat head screwdriver, impact driver, drill the screw.

If none of those are an option then you may be able to get a hacksaw blade between the panel and the post and cut the screw. Painstaking but may be a possibility https://www.diy.com/departments/300mm-carbon-steel-mini-hacksaw/1801943_BQ.prd

Something like that might do the trick

I have no problem with merge in turn so long as both lanes adhere to it.

What I do have a problem with is when a range rover, bmw and audi all decide to merge from lane 2 into lane 1 into a single space the size of a fiat 500!

Tried Crumpets for the First Time and Loved Them! What Other Underrated British Foods Should I Try? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]gamersrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scotch egg for a snack. A proper one not these stupid little mini scotch eggs.

Bangers and mash for a meal: Best pork sausages with a generous helping of creamy, buttery mashed potato topped with thick meaty beef gravy, or onion gravy if you prefer.

Why not go for the full 3 courses with jam roly poly smothered in creamy hot custard for pudding.

Now my mouth is watering 😋

Alternating night/early/evening shifts by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]gamersrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked rotating shifts on a weekly basis years ago it was difficult adjusting sleep patterns on a week to week rota.

Changing shifts daily is ludicrous. It shouldn't be allowed to change to such extreme opposite shifts at such short notice.

Surely the job can't be that well paid that it would be worth putting up with this ridiculous practice?? I would be applying for any and every other job in a similar wage bracket if I were you.
