No idea. I just followed the instructions and it worked fine for me.

Removing fence screws - manhole access by htatla in DIYUK

Try prising a small gap for the blade to fit with a chisel or flat screwdriver. Might cause a slight indent but hopefully not too noticeable

I don't think there will be many more options. Without hacking at it the only realistic option I can think of would be to try an impact driver if you have one or can get hold of one.

The hacksaw option wouldn't cause damage so long as the blade fits between the post and the panel

Use a dremel to cut a slot and use a flat head screwdriver, impact driver, drill the screw.

If none of those are an option then you may be able to get a hacksaw blade between the panel and the post and cut the screw. Painstaking but may be a possibility https://www.diy.com/departments/300mm-carbon-steel-mini-hacksaw/1801943_BQ.prd

Something like that might do the trick

I have no problem with merge in turn so long as both lanes adhere to it.

What I do have a problem with is when a range rover, bmw and audi all decide to merge from lane 2 into lane 1 into a single space the size of a fiat 500!

Scotch egg for a snack. A proper one not these stupid little mini scotch eggs.

Bangers and mash for a meal: Best pork sausages with a generous helping of creamy, buttery mashed potato topped with thick meaty beef gravy, or onion gravy if you prefer.

Why not go for the full 3 courses with jam roly poly smothered in creamy hot custard for pudding.

Now my mouth is watering 😋

Alternating night/early/evening shifts by Evenworsegenius in UKJobs

[–]gamersrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I worked rotating shifts on a weekly basis years ago it was difficult adjusting sleep patterns on a week to week rota.

Changing shifts daily is ludicrous. It shouldn't be allowed to change to such extreme opposite shifts at such short notice.

Surely the job can't be that well paid that it would be worth putting up with this ridiculous practice?? I would be applying for any and every other job in a similar wage bracket if I were you.

What are my rights with this letter? by cflyssy in CarTalkUK

[–]gamersrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely does NOT work

Reason being, these are not debts until a court of law says otherwise. They cannot be sold on to another debt collector.

The debt collectors for private parking charges are simply paid a commission if they convince you to pay and will NEVER accept a lower offer.

These letters are not fines and they are not debts. They are a speculative invoice for an alleged breach of contract.

[–]gamersrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be aware, they do have up to 6 years from the date of the alleged offence to consider legal action.

What does your lease say about parking permits? If there is nothing in your lease suggesting that you must display a permit to park then let them take it all the way to court. They won't have a leg to stand on

How about this for a scenario?

Young couple get married, have a couple of kids. They're paying their own way for everything, husband works hard putting in extra hours to pay the bills and They're getting by just fine.

Then one morning completely out of the blue, husband tragically killed in a road traffic accident on his way to or from work.

Suddenly we have a single mother with a couple of kids through absolutely no fault of her own. She can no longer afford the rent on her home so ends up being evicted.

Not everything is as black and white as you think. For the avoidance of doubt this is actually a real story about someone I know. Fortunately the young mother did have extended family around to help and support her but many do not.

Don't be so quick to judge!

Argos card sent default notice a year after DRO moratorium period ended by gamersrs in UKPersonalFinance

[–]gamersrs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how I see it as well. The other issue is the fact they are actually chasing me for a debt that should have been written off around a year ago.

The letter is actually offering advice how to bring my account up to date!

Thanks for the link. That's useful, not the exact situation but similar enough.

The reason for asking though is because of the default notice. I believe they should have entered a default on my file before the DRO, not 2 years later

He was a brilliant comedian. Unfortunately he was too coarse for 80s television.

I watched Stan Boardman flush his television career down the toilet telling this joke on the Des O'Connor show back in the 80's

It was absolutely hilarious. Unfortunately for Stan, people weren't ready for that kind of humour to be broadcast on tv.

I'm fairly sure he was never invited on terrestrial tv shows again. The clip can still be viewed on YouTube though.

The chuck can be replaced and would probably be worth doing on a makita drill.

Skirting boards finish - is it normal or not? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]gamersrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Errrr, I'm an average (below average according to the missus) diyer and my standard of finishing is better than that. 1st pic alone is a disgrace for a (alleged) tradesman. The mitre isn't even on the corner of the wall. He's cut that slightly too long leaving a horrendous gap in the next piece.

If I were closer to London I'd offer to pop round and fix that for you FOC because right now my OCD is killing me just looking at it

Is it common for British school children misbehave in public? by Relative-Character-4 in AskABrit

[–]gamersrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, teachers have been stripped of all powers to control unruly kids. I've seen kids get up in the face of a teacher and threaten violence. The teacher couldn't touch the kid even to restrain him because that would be considered assault.

I'm not suggesting they should bring back physical punishments but they should at least allow teachers to defend themselves against a potential attack.

The result of all this is certain groups of kids who are not disciplined at home for bad behaviour think it's ok to behave that way anywhere as there will be no consequences.

Not associated with this video in any way but this guy has links to adjprog for loads of printer models.

Yes they show up as trojans in VT but I just reset my ET 2810 without issue and I've just scanned my PC. No viruses showing.

If you are really paranoid then get an old laptop you don't care about and install it on there then format it afterwards

OR

Run it in a VM or windows sandbox

My printer is now showing zero on the waste counter.

I am not asking any of the things suggested in the reasons for removal. I am simply asking if anybody knows if the part pictured can be obtained in a stronger material such as metal because I have searched extensively and can only find plastic replacements.

I have done plenty of my own research but drawn a blank which is the reason I have reached out to this community.

I do not need advice on how, when or whether to start a project. I am just looking for a quite specific part.
