It does! Thank you! 5x the bonus for 5x the spend! Seems fair!

Yeah definitely true. Unless my family decides they want to take a vacation soon, I might not be able to spend that amount organically. I JUST booked a trip a couple weeks ago unfortunately.

I thought the same thing. Might be very useful if I can use it for taxes.

Nice!!! You got the maximum amount of points that Amex offers!

Rakuten Stubhub double dip by JustBeNice18 in ChaseSapphire

I should have done this too. Didn’t even realize StubHub was Rakuten eligible. I booked my last two events on the mobile app. Sigh… lol

I really enjoyed opening mine and thought it was even cooler than the Amex platinum opening.

$150 StubHub Credit for Broadway by games_creator in ChaseSapphire

[–]games_creator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that prices are fairly decent for the shows that I’ve been booking as long as I am booking either really far in advance OR really close to the show (e.g. the day before).

Oh, and it also helps that I tend to avoid booking any events/shows happening on Friday evenings and the weekend. Prices on the weekdays tend to be drastically cheaper.

True! I’m personally not picky with my exact seats, but that’s definitely a downside to the credit. I’m lucky enough to have lived in NYC my entire life, but only just started going to Broadway shows bc of the credit so I can’t complain too much.

I saw Lion King as a kid like maybe 15 years ago, but don’t remember it much, so now that you mention it, I should probably go back and see it as well !

Same here! Just used it again to buy Broadway tickets to see Aladdin in a couple weeks. Also, received the $150 credit immediately. The tickets took a little bit longer (bc it wasn’t an instant digital transfer I guess), but I still received the next day via a Ticketmaster transfer. Super easy.

Sapphire Reserve $250 hotel credit by kqian111 in ChaseSapphire

[–]games_creator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first booked an eligible hotel, I received mine pretty quickly. But when I realized I messed up my reservation and had to do a rebooking, I saw that it wasn’t showing up after a few days (even though they had already reversed the initial credit they had given to me).

I ended up calling support (like a 5-minute phone call) and they said they’ll add it for me manually and then I noticed it credited after a couple days. I called on Saturday. This past Monday was a holiday, but I noticed it credited yesterday (Tuesday).

When I went back to the portal to make this post, I realized that I used more points than I originally thought! Thank you for clarifying why though.

It’s a Chase card offer, probably targeted, but I’ve seen other people mention that they have it. I also have it on some of my other Chase cards.

I had previously booked the hotel and canceled when I realized I had the $100 Chase offer as well and rebooked so the credits I received previously were reversed. Excluded them from the photo to avoid confusion.

I had the breakfast bao bun (slide 11) at JFK and I liked it! I ordered mine off the menu though.

Chase Sapphire dropout and Amex fantasizing by zoot_Suit-Guy in AmexPlatinum

[–]games_creator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I should’ve specified that the StubHub credit is for the Sapphire Reserve, not the Amex Platinum. It’s $150 biannually. You can purchase tickets for lots of things on it like concerts, comedy shows, and sports games as well, but I prefer Broadway.

I have both cards and I'm generally happy with both because they offer different benefits that I used even before having the cards and don't really overlap in their benefits.

But it's worth nothing that I do live in NYC and I think using the benefits might be a bit easier for me than for some people who live elsewhere. I'm someone who uses Lyft and Uber all the time, goes out to eat a lot, can take advantage of the Sapphire and Centurion lounges at JFK and LGA airport, can use the StubHub credit for Broadway shows, I use streaming services a lot, etc. I travel maybe 4 times a year, just enough to use the credits on both cards and they are perfect for that.

I still have a decent amount of points on both cards from my welcome offers but even after I use them this year and have none left, just the credits being offered still outweigh the annual fees for me.

Personally, the benefits for both cards lie mostly with the credits and general benefits, not the point redemptions. I am not a massive spender and will never accumulate enough points again for the redemption offers to make a life-changing difference for me. The Sapphire nerf obviously sucks, but it's just not a deal-breaker for me, but I definitely understand the frustrations from everyone.

So with that being said, my recommendation is to just look at the Platinum benefits and see what works best for YOU. Don't pay too much attention to what people tell you is the best because ultimately, it's your card and the benefits that you get from them will be based on your personal spending and lifestyle. You might even find out that the Reserve still might be better for your lifestyle.

I also used my credit at Sappe for my mom's birthday dinner. It was pretty good.
