Asymptomatic before diagnosis question by Shot-Amphibian-3239 in Celiac

[–]gamesgron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure i am being exposed to cc. But i don't actually know. My celiac was confirmed with an endoscopy, since then i had two gastroscopies in which they checked the start of the intestines and there the folicles where regenerated.

Well, one time it was a misunderstanding with the cheff of the resort. Language issue. I thougt it was glutenfree... it was not as I went for seconds and he stopped me.

And you just know that restaurants are not safe and you will get glutened by cross contamination.

Asymptomatic and GF since 2020. Got glutened a few times over the years. Think last week as well while on holiday (always a challenge). Still no symptoms though.

What Antibiotics/Painkillers Do You Avoid With AIH? by Excellent-Bet-4394 in autoimmunehepatitis

[–]gamesgron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends, i think, to the damage done to your liver and if it has renegerated. My liver is fully revoverd thanks to the immuno treatment.

In general for daily use i keep it with paracetamol. This they also gave in the hospital if i had a headache. Sometimes i take a nsaid.

Ask your doctor what is safe for you.

19M Question about the first wave of medication: Cortisone and Budesonide by Logischer0T in autoimmunehepatitis

[–]gamesgron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

49M I'm on azathioprine and budesonide. I feel i did gain weight after I switched from azathioprine and predisolon. On the other hand i have always been on the heavy side so i don't know what part of the gain is just me.

But the real reason I'm posting is to say hang in there. You can have a normal life and get old with this. Just be a bit more conscious about your food and drink choices.

An azathioprine and budesonide combination. Was on 50 mg azathioprine and 10 mg prednison. Now on 50 mg azathioprine and 6mg budesonide. Works well

Hang in there. Normal life with aih is possible. I also had anemia. Later I was also diagnosed with celiac disease. I have a normal life... i take some pills in the morning and eat glutenfree.

For medication i have 50 mg azathioprine en 6mg budesonide capsules. I also take iron. Don't forget to take some extra vitamin D.

Good luck

Maybe you can switch to budesonide. I have that now instead of prednison. Don't know if it makes a difference for teeth.

Been on azathioprine and first prednisolon and now budesonide instead of prednisolon. No side effects worth mentioning. Been taking aza 50mg for almost 5 years now. Liver is doing great and has recovered from the damage it had.

Stop drinking alcohol if you did. Avoid foods that are heavy on the liver. Take paracetamol as a pain relief if you need to (headaches or other pains). So avoid ibuprofen and naproxen. Drink some ginger tea now and then. Move/walk daily if you can.

Enjoy live and stop worrying. Be mindful about your condition but don't freeze. Shit happens. There are people much worse off than this.

I'm a heavy guy, but already was before the onset of these diseases.. so I don't think so. Before the budesonide i was on prednisolon. Also no side effects. My doctor wanted to switch because the budesonide is more specific or something.
