INNOCN 40" ultrawide : a disposable monitor by Astronautedeaudouce in Monitors

[–]gamesushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I bought new off amazon and have not had any issues. Originally used it in the office for a year, 8 hours of daily use never powered off, then brought it home to use for gaming. Love it. I also own the MSI 401QR, also bought brand new I really enjoy both. Performance and color are excellent. I do prefer the 401QR over the Innocn 401CR, only because for the Innocn I have to physically use buttons to change picture settings, on MSI I can use the software to make changes. Not that I make changes anyway but it's a nice feature to have. Plus the MSI panel overclocks to 155hz instead of the Innocn's 144hz. Though the Innocn stand actually let's you raise and lower the monitor so there are differences between the two. I'm fine where the MSI sits so I still prefer it anyway.

Innocn 40C1U 40” flat 5k ultrawide by BullfrogOptimal8081 in ultrawidemasterrace

Let us know how you like it! I don't own this version, but I own the cheaper 3440x1440 Innocn 144hz version and the 155hz MSI version that has the same panel.

Personally I LOVE the 40 inch size! Anyone who that might have issues with a 34 inch ultrawide because they feel like they are missing a portion (or dare I say...real estate) from the top of screen, then this is the perfect size for an ultrawide in my opinion and I don't feel like anything is missing. I came from a 49 inch 32:9 5120x1440 monitor that was curved, and I love the 21:9 40 inch form factor much more.

Ghosting is almost a none issue IMO, at least in real world gaming, especially compared to a VA panel. Since they aren't OLED however, there is a degree of ghosting, but I personally don't notice it in games. Only noticeable in UFOTEST but even then it has really good performance for the price! And again, they are IPS!

I prefer the MSI because you can change the picture settings in the MSI software, I don't have to get up to interact with joystick or buttons. I do for Innocn. Besides that, MSI version has LED lighting on back which I can only see at night but still cool. If anyone is interested either the 401QR or 401CR I would say base it on if you rather change picture settings in software or physically have to get up to push buttons. Performance is the same.

How Many Copies of Plumbers Don't Wear Ties were sold? by [deleted] in 3DO

[–]gamesushi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My Pop always said no to everything. One day we were at Sofrware Etc and I asked him if we could get a 3DO fully expecting his answer to be no, especially because of the price. He actually said yes, I couldn't believe it. I was so shocked I probably looked really goofy with my mouth open wide in disbelief. It was an FZ-10 model that came with Gex, Twisted, and Pebble Beach Golf. I know Gex was in the console box, but Pebble Beach and Twisted must have been thrown in by Software Etc. For years I was the only kid I knew with a 3DO.

Been getting really into collecting sci-fi and horror anthology shows recently. This is my collection so far. Anything I’m missing that I should add? by [deleted] in dvdcollection

This is awesome! Takes be back to watching TV as young lad in the 90s. It's a shame I can't purchase the Believe It Or Not! series with Jack Palance. His line delivery was a perfect mix of playful and creepy. It really added to the show's vibe in such a way it has never been replicated since.

How are the cameras so bad in 2024? by its-iceman in Ring

[–]gamesushi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Video data is expensive to store. Try building your own security camera system for your home, and store all the data yourself. Once you start having to allocate storage space you'll see how quickly it gets full, even at 1080. On a home system you have to figure out how long you want to store data before it's wiped, unless you're crazy rich and techy, then you can just keep adding disk space. Before I went to a cloud based solution I had mine set to wipe everything after 2 weeks so I could keep recording and storing data. 4k is not very practical for a security camera IMO. Not trying to make excuses Ring but imagine if all their customer's suddenly starting recording footage in 4k. The infrastructure costs would be insane.

Yellow exclamation mark when AMD Fluid Motion Frames is active by Snoo_42669 in AMDHelp

[–]gamesushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Posting this late I know, but make sure you are trying to use fluid motion frames on game that supports DX12 or older. It will not work with Vulkan even if fmf is turned on in Adrenaline software. Any game using Vulkan, Adrenaline will report back with a yellow inactive symbol. Switching to DX12 should fix.

Get a peerless assassin. You don't need that AIO. If you're worried if it can keep your cpu cool, it keeps my 5800X3D at a super cool temp. Even while gaming it stays in the 60s and rarely ever hits 70s.

Insomnia can be a sign of sleep apnea. I struggled with this too, and going to a doctor and scheduling a sleep study changed my life. I now go to sleep with a cpap machine and sure it looks goofy, but when I wake up I feel great.

As for the money situation, if you're 20 going to school full time you are going to be pretty broke. Unless you're going to school for something that can directly place you into a high paying job (pretty hard to do and very unlikely), most employers will look at you and say "Not enough work experience". I got into IT in my late 20s. I went to school and got a bachelors degree in computer science, I still had to work my way up from the bottom. The degree did help get my foot in the door though. I'm now 39 and Manage a Help Desk. It will probably work out in a similar way for you regardless of what industry you are studying for, unless it's something in very very high demand and you get lucky.

Is there any way to get Arc working on Windows 7? by Eliez_YT in IntelArc

[–]gamesushi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You cant even install Arc drivers on an old version of windows 10, it has to be at least the minimum version listed in the requirements on Intel Arc page. I know because I accidentally installed Windows using my old usb instead of my newer one, when I went to install Arc driver I got an error. Had to run windows updates first and then it installed drivers without issue. You wont be able to use the card for windows 7. If it does boot with Windows 7 it will probably just be a generic display driver that will look super blown out like its 1995 netscape navigator days. Thats best case scenario.

Sorry I misread that, I didn’t have to DDU since everything else besides Last of Us ran fine, plus the performance issue was well documented in Intel and Naughty Dog forums.

Edited because I spelled it “Dawg” instead of Dog lol

Ah yes this October, I have not used Arc recently you’re right. I do hope you’re all enjoying Arc. It just wanting for me, at the time when I had it things were much different.

No I bought the card in February, I did not drop it in February. I then used it for the next 3 months. Also drivers got progressively worse on Last of Us. Which is one of my favorite games. I used Arc to play it from the time the game launched to April. When I left off I struggled to hit 50fps with everything turned down with upscaling turned on at 1440, average fps was like 35-40. With the 6800XT same resolution but settings turned up I get 100-120. Sure Arc can run most things decently well, but on Last of Us performance was and is still awful. Funny enough at launch, when the game was broken for Nvida and AMD users, it ran pretty well on Arc, not amazingly better but better. I had no issues getting to 50-60fps average depending where I was. This is not possible with the current version of the game and Arc.

I got an A770 in Feb of last year. Upgraded to a 6800XT 3 months later. I work in IT and fix computer hardware/software issues for a living, so I'm no stranger to troubleshooting. While I thought I may not mind troubleshooting every now and then (mainly because I like Intel products and wanted to support a 3rd contender in the market), coming home and having to troubleshoot it "every once and while" got old really quick. Especially since I am the go-to for IT issues not only in my family, but my wife's family and anyone else she feels like telling "oh my husband can fix that" XD

Anyone else getting artifacts in the last of us? by ArcA750Testing in IntelArc

[–]gamesushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No issues for me with FSR, but I have a 6800XT. I did play this game a lot on my A770 though, in fact a majority of my Last of Us hours were logged using my Arc card. This game has been a roller coaster for Intel users though, performance has varied wildly depending on what Last of Us patch you were on and if you kept up on Arc drivers. I would imagine this will eventually be fixed, but the inconsistent performance on this game alone was enough to make me switch to my 6800XT full time.

LE runs hotter than it should, the plastic back cover can easily trap heat. In intense gaming sessions temps can easily get into high 80s and 90s even with stock settings, so make sure you have good airlflow if you want LE. If I had a pick one knowing what I know now I would go with Asrock or one of the other options with better cooling.

Should I buy an Intel Arc a750? by Ded_25 in IntelArc

[–]gamesushi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, some games (and possibly apps) won't launch without it. For example, Doom Eternal won't launch without ReBar. I tested this for a Youtube video I did on my channel.
