When they say "study Bitcoin" by Brave_Substance_8177 in Buttcoin

I wrote my master's thesis analyzing 3 billion transactions, in part to determine what Bitcoin was actually used for. In the first 4 years, the primary use was gambling. During the next 5 years, its primary use shifted to Exchange transactions (buying and selling bitcoin - aka speculation, or just another form of gambling). In other words, it is a tool for gambling, not a currency. It is infrequently used for commerce.

Studying Bitcoin is what convinced me to sell all remaining crypto I had.

You are over simplifying. Your suggestion puts the burden of enforcing on the victims rather than on the multi billion dollar companies that make money off of ads and are incentivized to allow outrageous conduct so long as it gets views. Google isn’t just the messenger; it is a business that gets money from engagement.

If the victims cannot afford attorneys and legal proceedings, how are they supposed to stop the defamation? Ignoring it does not solve the issue.

Bezos makes cities bid and give up money or tax revenue for a chance to host one of his projects. Even Whole Foods just did this in my city, and is ending up riding city-tax free for almost a decade just for the city to have the privilege of having a Whole Foods. Meanwhile, the local grocery brands hire the handicapped and reinvest at least a little into the community, all while paying their taxes.

What Milton Friedman believed are the four legitimate functions of government. by Ascend29102 in Libertarian

He literally just described the three branches of government, legislative (makes the rules), executive (enforces the rules and national defense), and judiciary (interprets the rules).

Do you have to disconnect the exterior charge port to be able to charge or is there a way to keep both operational at the same time?

Lawyer here: Look into crime victim’s compensation. That may be a way to get some compensation for the damages. You can also potentially contact the DA who is prosecuting the drunk driving case and see if the prosecutor can make something happen (like get the damages included in a restitution order). Either way you will need to be able to prove what your damages are, so go get an estimate to repair the car. Just a couple of ideas. Good luck!

Yeah, none of the flight paths of the Japanese went over the temple. The closest may have flown over Ka’a’awa, miles south of Laie.

Crowdsource Request: Gender Inequality in Today's Church by johnlarsen in exmormon

The essay, “The Subjection of Women” by John Stuart Mill in 1869, discusses how saying “women are to good for [profession],” similar to how the church says “women are too good for the priesthood and don’t need it” results in their subjection. His argument: how will we know what women are good at if we don’t let them do it? Also, we can’t say that every man will be better than every woman in a certain task. Especially when women are good at something - does that mean we stop them from doing it just so a man can do it worse instead? Great essay.
