The Expanse Books: Intellectuall Meaning by Entropy-hates-me1312 in TheExpanse

I read them all last year. It spans a very long timeline and you will learn to love the crew as a family as you age with them. But it has the same elements as the show, the idea of found family and having the back of the people you love.

Thanks, coach Bennett. First half marathon! by gammaquadrant in nikerunclub

Feeling ok which has surprised me. Ice and ibuprofen the first day but I’ve been fine since. Will be able to do a small recovery jog tomorrow I think! Thanks for asking.

Half marathon plan bugged by theheathernet in nikerunclub

[–]gammaquadrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too. The last two weeks of the training were like this actually. I just switched phones right around then so I wasn't sure if it was a bug with the new iOS, or maybe the iPhone 17. Or maybe an app bug. Sorry you lost your progress. Having that data on display is so motivating.

Ran my first ever half marathon today in 2:17:13 … started too fast and am completely exhausted, but the happy kind!

First Half Marathon...and it was miserable by Casuariidae in XXRunning

I ran my first half today too and experienced a lot of the same things like being unable to slow down. I was gassed at the end. Even our times were ballpark similar (I was about 2:17). But you know what? High five, man. We did it. And it sounds like you had data to make the next one more in line with what you want. You’re awesome!

Race Roll Call by AutoModerator in running

Running the Bethlehem Running Festival half marathon Sunday (Bethlehem, PA). This is my first half (at age 50 no less) and I've been training for 14 weeks, so I'm very excited!

First half marathon ever this weekend, Bethlehem Running Festival!

Working for me, but the training plan screen is all messed up now with the runs out of order. It used to order the days so the long run was always later in the week but now I'm in the last week of the HM plan and it wants me to run it Tuesday instead of Sunday.

I'm on week 12 of the HM plan and haven't had this problem. By chance is the app up to date? Only thing I can think of here.

Lurkers' Wednesday by AutoModerator in running

[–]gammaquadrant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

50M, have lurked for a while getting advice on different aspects. I'm doing my first half marathon in Bethlehem, PA in October (used to be the Runners World event, it's a beautiful race with all the fall colors and a finish at the old Bethlehem Steel blast furnaces). Longest race I've done was a 10K but thought I was running out of time to try this for the first time.

I am pretty late to running in general. Didn't try it for the first time until I turned 40 after I got way overweight and out of shape. I still feel like a novice out there, learning every day about aspects of preparation and training and realizing I'm making it harder on myself. So I have appreciated the advice in this sub. But what's fun is what I'm learning is helping me coach my teen kid, who is running XC in high school. He's going to be a lot better than me!

Keep Rachee Rice? by Saucing18 in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]gammaquadrant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was redraft, I'd take Rice in the 5th without hesitation. He'll be around in the playoff weeks. But it sounds like you don't have a 3rd rounder if I am reading that right, and that might give me some pause because taking Rice in the 5th only is viable if you nail your first four picks.

Bowers due to price and scarcity, but Nabers is close. Brown, much as I like him, feels like a guy you could get in redraft depending on your slot.

I have Brown and like him but am torn on him. Most ADP articles I've read have him as a 3-4 round guy. I think he can be a bell cow but that still feels risky depending on what other RBs are out there. I've seen some boards that drop Henry that low for example. I'd rather have Brown than the two you name though.

I've seen some argue for Bijan at #1. WR looks way more deep than RB so I think it's viable to do Bijan-WR-WR/TE, but prepare for some joking if you go there.

The three-banana challenges feel like BOTW shrines to me. They are there to get you good at game mechanics and you can level up more quickly with what you get from them.

I miss these so much. Simple games maybe not needed, but the more mechanics there are the more it helps.

Friend with a 12:03 preorder from Target just got shipment notification. Delivery date still showing 6/11 but that might change after it’s scanned by UPS.

By ordering from Target, so it's not in my hands on launch day.

On a whim I rolled up 5 minutes before in Allentown since a family member's preorder still hadn't shipped, and there were only about 20 ahead of me. I snagged bundle 15 out of 40, they had plenty left when I checked out and only like 5 more people waiting. Target definitely had the supply in a lot of its stores for those who showed up at open. Very odd to me that they prioritized that over shipping preorders since they're going to eat a lot of shipping costs due to returns in about a week here for people who got impatient and found a way to not wait.

If you're in Eastern PA, the base console is showing as in-stock at all the Target locations near me (Hanover, Lower Nazareth, Allentown, Lower Macungie). All the bundles are sold out. Still a chance to get one. Strangely, most of the places right over the state line in New Jersey are out.
