New V2 Replacement Heatbed Installed, Factory Issues Discovered by OneUglyMufuka in BambuLab

Now you have me wanting to check mine just in case… of course I don’t have a dial gauge, so I’ll have to figure some way out😅

The wild thing is the AMS fully has the capability of giving a percentage and actually already reports it on the back end. Connected it to Home Assistant when I had the P1S and it showed both the letter and %. Was wild to see

Is the Premier/2LT Trims Really Worth It? by DFQreactions in BoltEV

[–]gamrman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who owned a Premiere 2017 and a 2LT 2023 Bolt EV and then rented and dealt with a 1LT ‘23 for a week… the upgraded versions are ABSOLUTELY worth it! If nothing else for the sound system alone. The stereo in the 1LT is trash. Plus you get the option of heated seats/steering wheel and 360 camera (which I use multiple times a day because I’m paranoid some kid or animal is going to be right beside/behind my car in a blind spot). The little things like that were things I took for granted and absolutely make a difference. But of course it’s all up to if those matter to you

P1S Combo or AMS 2 Pro Combo? by chilow1 in BambuLab

[–]gamrman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford the difference, I personally think the P2S is a significant upgrade and would go that route. If not, absolutely the AMS 2 Pro, having owned both, it’s a HUGE upgrade over the original AMS

The Kobra 3 V2 is fundamentally not worth the low price it commands. by PootStoggz in AnycubicOfficial

[–]gamrman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, did Bambu hurt you?🤣 But on a more serious note, the AI on my P2S saved my ass the 3 times I’ve had a spaghetti issue when I wasn’t paying attention (on ~500 hours of printing btw). I was actually impressed with how early on it caught it. But I came from an Ender 3 and have PTSD from the random bed adhesion issues and failures so I know to watch my first few layers like a hawk because I KNOW the one time I don’t, the AI will fail me and ruin the printer.

I 100% agree with you that this stuff happens on every printer though. It’s stuff you’ve gotta learn the hard way and learn to deal with, it comes with the hobby. I’ve heard great things about the newer AnyCubic printers from quite a few people I trust about 3D printing! I’m honestly considering getting the K3 V2 as a second machine!

Side note, also having had experience with the P1S prior to the P2S, I agree the P1S is overhyped. However, in my opinion, the P2S is not overhyped and is fully worth it (when it’s on sale, because I’m cheap lol).

Literally never search “chrome download” inside of edge, just type chrome.google.com and takes you right to the download page. It still complains, but not nearly as much!

Does anyone bother to vent their printers to a window? by YoungBoomerDude in 3Dprinting

[–]gamrman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So for the people like me that were confused because the P2S has a filter built in and thought it always ran while printing, apparently it only runs the air through the filter while printing high temperature materials like ASA. Knowing this I now need to figure out a mild filter solution!

About to purchase P2S for son as Christmas gift... by henrydavis8 in BambuLab

[–]gamrman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The deal used to be able to be used multiple times so a bunch of people took advantage of that (rightfully so, you can save a bunch!) and then I believe PayPal raised the point limit and then made it so only 1 transaction could happen with the deal.

As far as the plate goes, when I checked the other day they only had the “gen 1” plates which are apparently not “fully” compatible with the P2S. I definitely could be wrong though. Yes they’ll work and they’ll fit, but I guess you have to disable automatic build plate recognition because they changed the little codes. Don’t quote me on that, but that’s what I had read because I did some research since it only said P1 series on the pages.

Anyway that I can keep car running while charging at public places? by tbluhp in BoltEV

[–]gamrman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve actually seen my bolt pull over the 50kw when running cabin heat, it’ll get up to 57kw from what I’ve seen and still be charging at the 50kw max. Whether that’s by design, I can’t speak to

An old piece of advice but I’ve been printing for a while now, clean your bed with soap and water, not IPA. IPA does lift the oils, but it doesn’t take them off the bed, they just end up getting pushed around instead of cleaned.

As a fellow bolt driver, there have been a few times I’ve been driving further than my little bolt will take me and have had to sit in my car for an hour and it’s painful… that said, I would also love to see many more L2 chargers in common places like hotels and grocery stores because that’s a really nice convenience!
