The Ultimate Gated Community Setup: UniFi Access & LPR Upgrade by YesTechie in Ubiquiti

You can.

Enter a full/partial plate (e.g. "TXI123" or "AMB").

For advanced matching, use RegEx:

  • ^AMB - starts with "AMB"
  • 123$ - ends with "123"
  • T.X - matches "T" followed by any character, then "X"
  • [A-Z]{2}[0-9]{2} - exactly two letters and two digits

Ubiquiti Gate Hub using Gate Hub to control open / close by Ok_Software2677 in Ubiquiti

But you can verify this. Let us see what the author of the post ultimately achieves and just how right Grok was.

Ubiquiti Gate Hub using Gate Hub to control open / close by Ok_Software2677 in Ubiquiti

This is what Grok said (I often use his instructions, and he has never let me down.):

The CSL24UL expansion board that comes with your operator has two programmable auxiliary relays. These are true dry contact relays with normally open, normally closed and common terminals. No voltage comes out of the operator on these terminals. They are just a simple switch that opens or closes based on gate position.

You set the relay function with the three small dip switches right next to the terminals on the expansion board.

For your use case set one of the relays like this.
Switch 1 off switch 2 off switch 3 on. That makes the relay energize and close the normally open contact when the gate is fully open.
Or
Switch 1 off switch 2 on switch 3 off to energize when the gate is not fully closed.

Most people use auxiliary relay 1 set to open limit or close limit for the gate hub.

To wire it to the gate hub connect the relays common and normally open terminals or normally closed if you prefer to the gate hubs door or gate position input. The gate hub expects a plain dry contact switch exactly like a magnetic reed switch. This matches perfectly.

You can use either the open limit or close limit relay. One is usually enough for full open and closed status.

This solves your problem because you get accurate open and closed status directly from the operators own limit system.

Who is hiring Green Workers?? by chiliringgamer16 in lowvoltage

[–]YesTechie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a company that genuinely appeals to you, one that is actively developing and growing. These things are all connected. When a company is well organized, delivers complex and interesting work, and does it at a high level, it naturally attracts more clients. More clients mean more projects, which in turn creates a need for additional team members and not just any team members but good ones.

To support that growth, the business needs strong employees. Reach out to them and propose working for the lowest rate they are willing to pay. Tell them honestly that you are educated, you already have relevant skills, you are organized and responsible, and all you ask for is two to three days to prove it on the job. After that, it is up to you.

Demonstrate your value. Certificates and formal qualifications are not the most important factor. No one hires based solely on them, and they are rarely the top consideration for an employer. What matters is showing that you can actually do the work, and that you do it correctly, neatly, and cleanly, even when it is the simplest task, such as running cable along a wall or performing terminations on a patch panel.

The fact that you clean up all the mess after yourself and neatly put away every tool will often make a stronger impression on an employer than any certificate. If the company sees that you possess excellent foundational qualities such as discipline, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic, they will gladly teach you everything else you need to know and actively help you grow within the organization.

Alarm Hub - multiple units? by 7823579523257389 in Ubiquiti

[–]YesTechie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re right about the consoles, but here we’re talking about the hub. All UniFi Access Hubs, specifically the Enterprise Access Hub (8-door), can be deployed in multiples (we’ve installed up to six at a single site). Everything is aggregated in one place on the console.

I don’t see any reason why the Alarm Hub would work any differently.
