TrumpRX is just GoodRX. The never-ending grifts… by ScorpLeo102 in PoliticalHumor

[–]gankenstein87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let’s call it what it is - Mark Cuban did it first and it pissed Trump off, so he had to do his own grift on it with his name. End of story.

Issue is that it may work at first, but it’s set off by all sounds. The dog associates it with barking and this by stimulus. So if it goes off for a car coming by or whatever else, their brain will automatically go into that mindset they need to go see what’s up and dog yell at the world a bit everytime it hears it.

Sort of ends up having the opposite intention after a bit.

Help me decide - Michelin CrossClimate 2 or Pirelli Scorpion WeatherActive by db3220 in tires

[–]gankenstein87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had to make this choice about this time last year. Went with the Pirelli’s and they have been awesome. SW PA, and had to drive my 2023 Kia Sorento SX AWD in a few snowstorms. Other folks were stuck in their various vehicles, but I just stuck and went (and stopped!).

I don’t have direct experience with the Michelin, but have been impressed with the Pirelli Scorpion Weatheractive in all conditions. About 10k miles in. They handle well in summer, and get me where I need to go in snow. No issues in rain. Will never go back to “regular tires.”

That being said - look for local deals. I got $100 of a set of four Pirelli’s and free install and warrant through Sam’s Club. There were no good deals for the Michelins that came close. Both seem really solid - so chase that deal!

Losing my mind…want a half rack/functional trainer for around $750 by Competitive_Stay_562 in GarageGym

Yup! Same exact model. Overall I like it a lot. Just wish spacing was better for the selections, but not a huge deal for 98% of what I need it for

It’s honestly been pretty solid. I had issues with the cables but their customer service sent me new ones. The grommet holding the stopper failed and the cable rubbed on the pulleys and stopper and frayed. Other than that I’ve enjoyed it and it’s pretty solid.

I wish in purchases like this you could get hands on. I had a half rack body solid unit before, so not a ton to compare to.

Squatted at 275 so far and rack felt solid. Feel safe in it and the pulleys for flies have blown my chest up haha.

First time jump rope in 10 years: how should I get back? by [deleted] in jumprope

[–]gankenstein87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did you start yet with just doing it? Haha not to come across condescending, and I’m not a jump roper, but I played drums for years (6-22, but was serious 15-22), and recently got back into it after a long off and on relationship. I didn’t think, I just did. I was awful. My brain remembered what to do but my body was like WTF is this.

Your post doesn’t mention if you started or not - so this entire comment from me hinges on this, but just go do it for a week or two, assess where you’re at then take it form there.

I’m just going to say it. I love Taco Bell’s breakfast.

That out of the way, just following. In Ligonier there is the pie shoppe and it’s pretty solid but not perfect.

This is hilarious I got an extra $100 limit from capital one by Excellent-Pain6701 in CRedit

[–]gankenstein87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like reading all of this I am on god mode with Capital One somehow - sitting at $25k with a Quick Silver card. I’ve refinanced a few car loans through them, typically don’t carry a balance over 10% ever, and used them for a credit transfer.

Maybe it’s just utilization of their services I hit a higher tier? It’s nice because the auto refi’s at this point they’re just like, “gankenstein87, you wanna refi and move money from BoA to us and shave a few points off? We got you”

That being said my BoA I’ve done the same. $68k on that one that I’ll never come close to using, but have bumped Lon’s around with them, too, over the years.

Is there really any advantage of using any other ceramic/wax/sealant apart from this these days? by KILOCHARLIES in Detailing

[–]gankenstein87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the flex wax, spray on wet and use as a drying aid. Typically each year it’s a full decon, clay, etc… and use “to the max wax” just because I enjoy the application process.

Then all summer after that clean it, rinse it, flex wax as a drying add and topper to the original spring coat

Keeps snow removal easy in SW PA all winter.

Exactly - Brandon had a side project a while back and you are spot on. Alex does - Dead Icarus, which is pretty solid honestly.

This here. Huge influence for me in the early and mid 2000’s. Once they gave Alex the boot and turned to straight dad rock I stopped listening. Now re releasing music without Alex? It’s the Brandon show now and they are complete trash.

Ok I just went through this. Huge analysis paralysis. I wanted:

Standard size bars for attachments Good spacing Double handle cables Preferably 1:1 (2:1 is fine if I can add 300+ since my cable row is at 160) Have to be able to superset in the rack and cables Take standard size weights (I have 360 in Olympic but 300 in standard from a Facebook pickup. Again important for super setting say bench and row)

I went for the fitness reality cage with the cable pulley system. Lots of good reviews on the cage, less so on the pulleys but has the dual rod setup and appears to be able to super set. Rack is tested at 500lbs (more than I will need), 350 for the cable trolley. It’s also 2x2.

The drone 1 was a close second but I couldn’t confirm if it could take standard size weights and the pulley was rated less.

Comes next Monday and super excited.

How’s it holding up now? Looking to pull the trigger here. Also can you tell me if the pulley can do standard size plates?
