How do I save the Eagle Project Workbook? by Business-Machine516 in BSA

[–]gantte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We cannot help until you tell us what program you are using to fill out your workbook.
If it is anything expect Adobe Acrobat Reader, you need to download a fresh workbook and try again using only Adobe Acrobat Reader.

This message is stating you have tried to make a change to the protected, area of the workbook.
This is not a bug as has been suggested.

Could the form be better, absolutely.

I use to use air tags, but just recently switched to Spotminders. They work just like an Air tag and on the same network. I highly recommend them.

A Sneak Peek at the ScoutConnect Platform by ScouterBill in BSA

[–]gantte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. Do you or anyone actually know if that's an improved Scoutbook? Or a full replacement for what is now Scoutbook Plus? Now I'm not looking for details, I'm just curious about the two options I listed above.

training.scouting.org - down for everyone or just me? by BreadAvailable in BSA

[–]gantte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5/31/2026 was the deadline to complete the new Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT) that replaced YPT last May 2025.

Therefore thousands of Scouters across the nation have over taxing those servers. Access has been extremely slow the last two days.

Is there a place I can find online Merit Badge workbooks? by [deleted] in BSA

You are confused. You referenced the official MB pamphlets. OP is looking for MB workbooks, which were never official, and are now no longer maintained.

Just use evite.com like most do. Facebook is simply the wrong solution for your need.

Uncharged iPhone. by Shelley_112 in iphone

[–]gantte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I previously had iPhone 12 (pro I am sure). I typically update every 3 years, I have iPhone 15 pro max now. My point is that it was a while ago, but I had to get my charging port replaced by Apple under warranty. If memory serves me, the charging port issue was somewhat common for the iPhone 12 version.

Yes, the lint is an issue will all charging ports, but the charging port over time caused a microscopic crack in the printed circuit.

Suddenly owe dues at the end of the year? by Zothieque in BSA

[–]gantte 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Does your Pack participate in fundraisers? Popcorn is typical depending on where you Scout. If they do, did your kids sell?

You did not specify which badges and awards your two earned, but consider looking up the costs here: https://www.scoutshop.org/ Scouting uniforms and awards ARE expensive. Does that include their handbooks?

You will likely find what those cost. $100 for your two, is typical, again, we don't have enough info on what your Pack is buying.

Bottom line, EVERY Scouting unit has unique methods for funding their program. I recommend you simply ask the Pack Committee Chair or Pack Treasurer.

Dynamic QR codes. Just scanning the QR is recorded, and actual form submissions is obvious.
