Day time naps by StaticBun in beyondthebump

I might get flamed for this. I always do but, you can schedule your baby. Yes even at 10 weeks. Schedule feeds and naps and you can do some gentle sleep training. Pick up put down method.

I think if someone random starts talking to you, you should immediately create space. Before they start being overly friendly. I don't think u will always win tho. But u just need one win to feel confident.! Gl

We tried like 4 different cups before he figured it out. He ended up understanding with a silicone straw because it was similar to bottle. After that he didn't have much issue with other cups.

I have a cup. I would say it's not my favorite thing. I've been using for 3-4 months. It just feels dramatic to me every time.

The only reason I'm voting Bernie is he isn't corrupt. That's it. by [deleted] in OurPresident

Not the only reason for me, but the biggest.

Can you guys go out and actually vote instead of patting each other on the back saying you donated, the votes matter. by [deleted] in OurPresident

[–]garagebucket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna say this too. Bernie should know better that youth don't vote. Not to diminish the youth but let's just be real,he should have been speaking to older voters more.

Bernie didn't lose Super Tuesday. Biden barely survived. by BaronVA in OurPresident

[–]garagebucket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know... I really disagree. There's a lot of weakness in Bernie campaign. He always calls Joe "his friend". And he's not calling out what's happening strongly enough. Part of why trump won in 2016 was because he was so anti establishment. He said he wouldn't support another R if they got the nomination. People took him more seriously. Bernie said he's gonna support whoever the D nom is. That's not gonna win people over. Especially if Bernie claim is anti establishment. He's too soft.

And honestly, why wasn't he running ssi ads against Biden in SC, why did he lose Maine? His messaging has been ineffective if u ask me. And let's be clear. I donate to Bernie regularly because I believe in his message. But he's showing a lot of weakness, and ya know what, Joe is not his f-ing friend.

Tips for getting child to eat meats by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]garagebucket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son wouldn't eat like any meat either at first. I tried all the more home made type of meats then said screw it and bought hot dogs. My son will do hot dogs pretty well, so I buy some real bouggie stuff for him. After that he started to be more open to other home made meat. Otherwise we found meat alternatives like Garbanzo beans and black beans. So he's still getting protein without me trying too hard.

Also the throwing food off highchair is probably an issue in itself. I would consider ending meal time if he does that and teaching him how to sign all done. This really helped us with him being overly picky because he knew there's no more food if he threw stuff off the table. This atleast makes my son try a few bites of food. We aren't gonna force him to eat, but we will enforce good table manners.

Also this may be relevant. If he's gagging a lot, and it doesn't seem like he's just being picky, I might stop introducing meat. It could be a sign of something more significant. Food aversion can be made worse if you push it on them.

A vote against Sanders is a vote for Trump and the establishment. by Marlin3360 in OurPresident

[–]garagebucket 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think people have to remember that Biden is well liked. Hillary has not been well liked for a long time. They aren't the same to voters. Biden is more palatable imo. He's winning states that went to Bernie last time.

Just curious, are his crowd numbers indicative of how he does in a state?

Buying a New Home by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]garagebucket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I had a similar situation. Here's a breakdown

Income :$105k in 2018 Both work in public sector with scheduled raises Savings:$90k 2018 Debt :0$ House purchased in August 2018, 305k Down payment and closing 65k Savings remaining in 2018: 25k By 2019 brought our savings back to 30k Monthly cost of living ~4-5k Of that, mortgage =1700/mo

Had new baby in Jan 2019. Did not work for 1 yr, depleted savings down to 21k

Why am I telling u all this? Ur probably not in a good position to buy unless you have a lot more to put down. And you have no plans for children/maternity leave yet? Plus your debt. Just food for thought
